Chelsea’s Jose Bosingwa has escaped disciplinary action for his injury-time stamp in the back of Liverpool’s Benayoun in Sunday’s game at Anfield.

Despite being missed by referee Riley, the right-back look destined for a three-match ban for violent conduct going on the footage. Apparently however, today’s apology from the player was enough for the FA to come to the conclusion that shoving your studs in the back of an opposing player does not warrant a act of violence deserving of a ban. Good news for Bosingwa owners but surprising stuff from the FA nonetheless.

There’s still no news on the Lampard situation, although Chelsea have appealed the decision. Surely there will be good news here too – unless this is a sweetener from the FA who may be about to stand by their ref on the Lampard red. I wonder…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
