So Man City have sealed the signing of Carlos Tevez following his ‘loan’ spell at United. The move involves a reported fee of £25 million and further underlines City’s intent to break the top four this season.

In fantasy terms it at least means that Tevez remains an option for us, although with Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Robinho and reports of talks with Arsenal’s Adebayor circulating yesterday, the City attack is shaping up to be a potential rotation nightmare…

We can have no concerns over the Argentinian’s Premier League pedigree. Tevez notched 5 goals and 3 assists in his 20 starts for United last season, having earned 14 goals and 6 assists in 31 appearances the previous year. In his first season with West Ham, the striker gathered 7 goals and 4 assists in 19 starts.

Given the starts then, Tevez will produce. City promise to be an attacking side and with 32+ games under his belt, a return of 15+ goals should be within reach. We can only speculate just how Hughes will juggle his resources though, particularly if Adebayor remains a target. His arrival would put a question mark over the chances of 32+ starts for any of the City strikers.

We need the dust to settle on City’s substantial cheque book and the pre-season to preview of Hughes’ intent before we can really consider our options here. Right now Tevez doesn’t even have a price point in any of the games – that will surely be a deciding in factor in the role that he will play in our fantasy season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
