Patrice Evra has promised that we’ll see more of him in the final third this sesason. There are several stories doing the rounds this morning, all offering quotes from the United left-back indicating that, in Ronaldo’s absence, he is being instructed to surge forward more often to provide some width for Ferguson’s men.
This will obvioulsy be of interest to fantasy managers, who will look to Evra to provide a similar supply of attacking and defensive points as Liverpool’s Glen Johnson. The United man already demonstrated his intent on Wednesday by getting forward to win the penalty which Carrick duly missed.
Evra is already by far the most popular member of the United defence amongst Fantasy Premier League managers, with 22% ownership. He also enjoyed a price rise this week, with an increase to 6.6 in that game. Stories like this will surely only add to his appeal, although we’ll need some goals from United before we can get too carried away with Evra’s potential.
