Another gameweek passes and another round of The Fantasy Football Scout Cup halves the number of remaining participants to 64. For those making it through, you are just one victory away from making it to the live podcast draw.

Straight down to business then, and this weeks winner of a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power is Xtenz, with a mammoth score of 99 thanks to a great all-round performance, topped off with Bent and captain Torres. That 99 was enough to edge past The Dinkum Donuts by 54 points, who coincidently was last weeks top scorer. It’ll be up to Xtenz to stop the trend of top scorers immediately being dumped out of the Cup in the following round.

Two ties had to be decided on overall ranking, with Shiloh losing out to Unusually Rubbish having both scored 58, and MFaulkner losing out to Pieman after they both scored 71. That 71 for MFaulkner was the highest score failing to progress, so doubly unlucky there.

With the average score for the participants in the cup this week being 59, for Josepe to get 44 and squeeze past hip (43) makes him the luckiest manager this week. The match-up with the highest aggregate score this week was Stealthfish 68-90 Wes, and the lowest aggregate match-up involved my conqueror Von Moltke 35-49 Chucky77.

Lovely Camel beat Woo 72-64, Leeds_Champion breezed past Roger C 74-60, Sam (Team Sam) came out on top against Shanklyboys 66-42 and Comfy_Coxy powered past Gargamel 70-54 to pick out just a few ties of note.

With the gap between gameweeks a day shorter than in previous rounds, the draw for the 4th round will hopefully be up tomorrow as we look to turn it round fairly quickly. In the meantime, congratulations to all of you through, and comiserations to those of you leaving the competition at this stage.
