Bobby Zamora could be back in action for Fulham by next weekend and back on our radars for their possible double fixture gameweek.

The striker suffered a dislocated collarbone in the 3-2 defeat at Stoke early in the month and was said to be sidelined for around six weeks as a result. However, Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has today indicated that the striker has made good progress and seems very optimistic about a quick return…

“It’s [the injury] something Bobby’s got to live with and he actually wants to get back as soon as possible. He’s capable of dealing with the situation and pain that comes along. He’s feeling very confident at the moment and with out any luck he might be out as lot less long than we originally thought and that might also affect our thinking in the transfer market.”

Fulham’s official site have jumped the gun somewhat and stated that a return for the home game with Villa next weekend could be on the cards. That’s the first of two possible fixtures for Fulham in gameweek 24, should they resolve their FA Cup tie with Accrington Stanley and Portsmouth settle their clash with Sunderland tomorrow…

If Zamora’s comeback starts to look realistic, he would immediately be promoted in our thinking for the gameweek. He was showing very strong form prior to the injury, notching 3 league goals in 5 starts leading up to the Britannia fixture, along with a couple of assists and Fantasy Premier League bonus. As it stands, with Dempsey sidelined, the likes of Murphy, Duff and Gera (along with the Fulham defence) are set to gain some interest from Fantasy Managers going into the double fixture scenario. Zamora would likely jump them in the pecking order if there is evidence that he has made a suitable recovery.

As always, we will keep you posted on murmurs and developments from the Cottage over the coming week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
