While we still have a couple of double gameweek fixtures to get our claws into, with the recent news of Carlos Tevez’ likely absence from one of those very fixtures; I figured with many folks captaining said Argentinian it was time to move along and point out that our next captains poll is already live and kicking and awaiting your vote.

Having been up and running for the last 48 hours during an inauspicious FA Cup weekend (the implications of that to follow as promised), the poll is so far indicating once again the insatiable urge to captain one Mr. Rooney during Manchester Uniteds double gameweek. With a fixture against his boyhood club Everton and West Ham at home United look a fair bet for backing, with Evra and Valencia very far afield second choices.

Those worried about the “Rooney rest” saga seem to be looking to Fabregas in a strong home tie against Sunderland so far. Are there any other players worthy of the armband this week? So get voting and use this post as a platform for your discussion on who you think will be top dog this week.
