Now that we’ve waved goodbye to another less than enthralling gameweek, it’s time to kick-start ourselves into action once more as we build up towards the next. So on hand to inject vim vigour into our fantasy veins is another set of double fixtures, plus a timely reminder that the captains poll is hotting up and awaiting your votes.

If you’re reading the direct article you may be asking to yourself “Where exactly is the poll now?” or “How do I vote?” – well as part of our new (old) site redesign the Poll (and the Tweets) have been removed from the page of each separate post and can now be exclusively found on the Fantasy Football Scout home page. All these endeavours are part of our continued effort to create a more stable and fully functioning fantasy football utility for all of you to use (see today’s server upgrade). Back to the matter at hand though…

When it comes to the choice of captain and this week’s fixtures, we’ve got Liverpool at home to West Ham (who will be without suspended Scotty Parker) but there are giant clouds of doubt looming over Fernando Torres right now, as well as the form of Steven Gerrard. Sunderland are nigh on safe for another season and will be welcoming Burnley this weekend; Darren Bent looks tempting then. The question here is whether Brian Laws’ side will be revitalised after their first away win of the season at the 16th attempt?

There’s another Manchester derby, a match-up which has produced 14 goals in 3 games this term – Tevez, Adebayor and perhaps Rooney are all prospects then. The most tempting offering however appears to be Aston Villa’s double gameweek, with away trips to the relegated Portsmouth and seemingly doomed Hull.

So far the vote is an open book with many different names catching the eye of the Fantasy Football Scout readership. Four Aston Villa players (Milner, Young, Carew & Agbonlahor), Torres, Tevez and Darren Bent are all jostling in close quarters for your vote towards the top – it seems that the choice of armband this week could prove to be more crucial than ever.

So if you haven’t yet voted, head on back to our front page and put your marker down and then come back here and use this post as your discussion point for your selection.
