Let’s freshen things up by closing this week’s Fantasy Premier League Captains Poll before we embark on a short preamble leading to the deadline.

With a Villa double fixture, it’s perhaps no surprise to see their players well represented, although it’s been many a month since I last saw Ashley Young’s name so high in our reckoning. Disappointing to this point, Young fends off the challenge from team-mate James Milner to top proceedings. Sunderland’s Darren Bent is the next most fancied option as he prepares to face Burnley at the Stadium of Light. Then, perhaps surprisingly, Carlos Tevez is a popular option with plenty fancying him to turn Alex Ferguson a shade of purple with another goal against his former club when United face City today.

Perhaps the biggest surprise however is that Fernando Torres remains in the top ten, despite the doubt surrounding him starting against West Ham on Monday. More on his situation in the preamble.

Here’s your top ten then. Use this article to discuss your armband views and options.

* A. Young (18%, 460 Votes)
* Milner (15%, 396 Votes)
* Bent (14%, 355 Votes)
* Tevez (11%, 290 Votes)
* Agbonlahor (9%, 232 Votes)
* Carew (5%, 137 Votes)
* Van Persie (4%, 97 Votes)
* Torres (3%, 88 Votes)
* Bullard (2%, 60 Votes)
* Gerrard (2%, 60 Votes)

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
