It’s the last double gameweek we will witness this year; the penultimate of this rollercoaster of a season we have experienced. The choice of captain this week could really be the most pertinent of all as Fantasy Managers look to make that final stab at glory in their mini-leagues.

So far however, the results of our skipper selection poll are perhaps the most one sided we have seen in a long time. Somewhat unsurprisingly Manchester City’s star of the year – and recent PFA award nominee – Carlos Tevez, is the deal of the week. At the time of writing, 49% of voters have decided him to be the prime candidate to bag more goals for Floppy (that’s his daughter, sicko’s), making him the thinking Fantasy Manager’s choice for the Fanatsy Premier League armband…

At this stage of the season it’s perhaps disappointing to see so few close challengers. On the flip-side, Tevez is the most owned attacking player in the game (38% and rising) so the fear factor as much as his gallant performances, will have doubtless attracted the votes so far.

Tevez doesn’t quite have the whole vote locked down though. The chasers and gamblers amongst us may well be looking to the likes of Gareth Bale and Jermain Defoe who currently hold down places two and three in the poll. Managers across the board will be hoping Harry Redknapp has learnt from his Old Trafford “experiment” and puts Bale back in his much more suited position on the wing. Defoe investors meanwhile will just be praying that he can muster at least 60 minutes of pitch time against Bolton and City.

Do you think the Fantasy spectrum has glazed over a little too much with double gameweek fever? Is there a player with just one game who should have many more votes? Head back to the homepage and place your vote, then come here as usual to stake your claim for selection this week.
