This week’s pick through Paddy Power’s brain allows me to bring you the news of a pretty unbelievable World Cup special that will be available tomorrow morning. From 10am to 11am GMT on Saturday, Paddy have informed me that they will be offering “enhanced” odds of 10/1 on England to win the World Cup outright. That’s almost double the odds you can currently get (they are 11/2 right now).

These odds will be available for a very limited time and you can find the link to them here on this site, on our Twitter feed and our Facebook page from 10am tomorrow. Maximum stake will be £10 and of course, Paddy’s offer a free £20 when you sign up for a Paddy Power account and bet £10 will be applicable. So if you’ve yet to register an account and were thinking of backing Capello’s boys with your readies, then tomorrow brings you the ideal opportunity.

Now that’s got the World Cup business out of they way, let’s focus on Paddy’s odds relevant to our Fantasy thinking this weekend…

Who Will Keep A Clean Sheet?

Paddy is backing defensive double gameweek returns for Spurs from their meeting with Bolton at the Lane, making them their favourites for a shut-out. United are given equal odds for their trip to the Stadium of Light – something I question given Sunderland’s home record.

While United remain a strong bet for defensive points, I personally prefer Birmingham and Fulham who rate way down in Paddy’s thinking for a cleanie this weekend. Above them, Wigan’s odds are interesting – their DW Stadium encounter with Hull could well bring defensive rewards for those Fantasy Managers who have the likes of Titus Bramble and Maynor Figeroua tucked away on their bench. • Team/Odds
  • Tottenham 1.80
  • Man United 1.83
  • Birmingham 1.90
  • Wigan 2.37
  • Man City 2.62
  • Chelsea 2.62
  • Everton 2.70
  • Fulham 3.00
  • Arsenal 3.00

Anytime Goalscorer

Again there’s evidence to reinforce investment in Tottenham’s double gameweek here with Jermain Defoe rated as a clear favourite to score against Bolton this weekend. Wayne Rooney, now with every chance of figuring against Sunderland, comes in next, followed by the Spurs pairing of Ramon Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch, split by Didier Drogba.

Birmingham’s Cameron Jerome and Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega are likely to be largely unfancied in a week where most Fantasy interest is aimed at double gameweek strikers, but these two go into the weekend with low odds to score in their repsective home games against obliging opponents. Scout Markets

In addition to tomorrow’s “England Enhanced”, we’ve set up our usual pair of special Scout Markets to scratch your betting itch. The Clean Sheet Accumulator offers you 10/1 on Spurs, Birmingham and Fulham keeping clean sheets over the May 1-3 fixtures. In the Scout Picks bet meanwhile you can fetch you 14/1 on Mikel Arteta, Carlos Tevez and Jermain Defoe all scoring one or more goals over the same matches

As I’ve mentioned, if you new to Paddy Power, you can open an account with them via this site and earn a free £20 when you register and make a £10 bet. Click here to get some of that action.

As always, these markets and this offer is only open to those aged 18 or over.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
