Cesc Fabregas has delivered the message that all Arsenal fans and his manager Arsene Wenger wanted to hear by declaring himself “100 percent focused on playing for Arsenal.”
The Gunners skipper will be gracing the Premier League for at least another season then and will be blinking that little bit brighter on our Fantasy radars as a result.
There will of course be concerns that Fabregas is not only jaded by his World cup exertions but also that the protracted speculation regarding his future may impact on his performances but the “Cesc statement” does all it can to reassure that this will not be the case…
“I am an Arsenal player and as soon as I step out on to the pitch, that is the only club I will be thinking about….I am looking forward to the start of the season and putting this speculation behind me.”
So what do we think? Is Fabregas now well and truly back in our Fantasy favour?
Things were looking so cut and dry before. Frank Lampard was by far and away the best heavyweight (sorry Frank) option for our midfields but while the likes of Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda present viable options at Chelsea, Fabregas stands head and shoulders above the other options presented by Arsenal. Unless of course you’re happy to gamble on Robin Van Persie’s fitness.
With a week of tinkering to go it’s a delcious puzzle. A new poll has been set up in your middle column to gauge your current feelings on this one.
