The opening Gameweek continues at Anfield with Liverpool hosting Arsenal in an encounter that strangely, is unlikely to carry too much significance for most Fantasy Managers. With uncertainty surrounding the likes of Fernando Torres, Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie – this is very much a Scouting mission for many of us and hopefully a spectacle for the neutral.
The team news is interesting – Arsenal are without both Fabregas and Van Persie as expected. The Arsenal skipper didn’t travel with reports that a chest infection ruled him out. Jack Wilshere starts in midfield then, along with Emmanuel Eboue and a fit-again Abou Diaby. Manuel Almunia is in goal for Wenger’s side, ending speculation over the keeper’s jersey and presumably announcing the Spaniard as the number one – for now at least.
As for Livepool, they are without Torres who claims a spot on the bench but Javier Mascherano starts, despite speculation surrounding his future. He starts ahead of Lucas in midfield while Dan Agger gets the nod at left-back.
Our Dugout Discussion live chatroom is now open to cover the game.
