The short wait to find out the magic number needed to qualify for the third Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, is over. All thanks to my colleague SUPERIOR BEING for producing the results so quickly.

A fantastic turnout for the qualifying round saw 1,283 fantasy managers fighting it out for just 510 places. After hits, a score of 49 or above is good enough for the first round. For the 43 fantasy managers sitting on 48 points for the week, you will have to click here to see if you made the grade, as your qualification is dependant on overall rank…

With odds so slim, it’s no surprise to see so many big names drop out at this early stage. Amongst others, contributors SIR PAULOS (46), Big Dunc (42), Andy (43), SUPERIOR BEING (37), Da Beeeez (38) and Money Mike (38) all missed the cut, leaving just six contributors left in the Cup.

So onto the first round proper now, where Jonty and donnellyc join us. The fixtures for which will be published a few days before the next deadline (although I may not make you wait that long).

Thanks again to everyone who entered, congratulations to the qualifiers, and commiserations to those missing the cut.

to become an hero you need consistency you need to train well play and have effect in important matches try to impress your coach obinna is a player of good quality but the above named conditions still lag behind in his football career so he should be given the chance to show himself he's a wonder-guy

Ok, I too played my wildcard prematurely....out of these who would you replace and with who? (I've put my suggestions for replacements in brackets)

    1. Sagna (Samba)
    2. Scholes (Fabregas - but would also mean losing Malouda and switching in maybe Parker instead of the following below. )
    3. Bale (Van Der Vaart) - Bale too defensive to get consistent points?

I know a lot of people are considering the switch between Malouda and Fabregas...Oh what to do!

The rest of my team includes:

    Robinson/Carson
    Toure/Huth/Bramble/Williamson
    Malouda/Nani/Etherington
    Drogba/Berbatov/Carroll
