The short wait to find out the magic number needed to qualify for the third Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, is over. All thanks to my colleague SUPERIOR BEING for producing the results so quickly.

A fantastic turnout for the qualifying round saw 1,283 fantasy managers fighting it out for just 510 places. After hits, a score of 49 or above is good enough for the first round. For the 43 fantasy managers sitting on 48 points for the week, you will have to click here to see if you made the grade, as your qualification is dependant on overall rank…

With odds so slim, it’s no surprise to see so many big names drop out at this early stage. Amongst others, contributors SIR PAULOS (46), Big Dunc (42), Andy (43), SUPERIOR BEING (37), Da Beeeez (38) and Money Mike (38) all missed the cut, leaving just six contributors left in the Cup.

So onto the first round proper now, where Jonty and donnellyc join us. The fixtures for which will be published a few days before the next deadline (although I may not make you wait that long).

Thanks again to everyone who entered, congratulations to the qualifiers, and commiserations to those missing the cut.

            It'll be interesting to see where he is used. I cant see him replacing Barton or the Almighty Tiote in the centre, so he may possibly be utilised down the right.
            At any rate I imagine it pushes Alan Smith even further down the pecking order.

          How hard is it? I will rarely have Torres in my FPL team. Plenty of strikers to pick from. Use the WATCHLIST for example. Seems like a silly question which got a silly response.

      Match of the Day cannot be broadcast in HD because some of the matches are still filmed in standard definition (SD). The BBC's videotape infrastructure and the studio are also in SD. It is very expensive to convert everything to HD and would not deliver long-term value to either the BBC or its licence fee payers given BBC Sport's move to Salford in 2011 (where the infrastructure will be in HD).

      However, the BBC's live Championship games are in HD where possible, as will the 2010 World Cup. This is because outside broadcasts do not require the same infrastructure as Match of the Day and are therefore far easier to produce in HD.

    Bloody hell dont want to do any transfer just yet but few of the players i want in are about to rise and probably not for the only time this int break, dilema dilema.

    Even worse is i probably wouldnt want them for this game week : vanderwart, almuhamady, elamnder & jara

    I have two free transfers and my team is:
    jaask (foster)
    alex o'shea enrique (jones faye)
    malouda bale barton nani (cleverley)
    drogba tevez berbatov(c)

    My 3 thoughts so far are:
    1) malouda and bale --> fabregas and adam
    2) o'shea and bale --> van der vaart and elmohamady
    3) faye --> elmohamady and save transfer

    Although would like to beat rises it is not urgent and plan to wait until the end of the int'l break.

    Any suggestions?
