Just a reminder that the price of early season offer on Fantasy Football Scout will end today so, if you’ve been considering joining up, be sure to take a look if you want to join for £12.50.

The price will rise to £20 later this evening.

If you want more information on what is available to Members you can click here to get a feature list and a movie preview of what’s on offer.

As we outlined just over a week ago, we also have a whole batch of work in progress developments as we go into “Phase Two†of the Members area. Here’s a list of what we will be looking to deliver to Members in the next few months…

  • View all Opta stats by Gameweek – Filter Player and Team statistics for a single gameweek.
  • View all Opta stats by Gameweek Range – Filter Player and Team statistics for a range of gameweeks. So, for example, you can use this facility to view Arsenal’s data over a range of Gameweeks with or without Cesc Fabregas. Custom filters such as this will be supplied as suggestions.
  • View all Opta stats for Home/Away fixtures – Filter player data by Home and Away fixtures to find those players who perform best on the road and those who only produce for home fixtures.
  • View all Opta stats against specific opponents/group of opponents – View those players and teams who raise their game against the cream and the “flat-track bullies†who always produce against the bottom four.
  • New Player and Team Tables – New calculation tables will provide new key data for each position. For example you’ll be able to view stats such as Goal Attempts per minute/start, Crosses per minute/start to help analyse player performance.
  • Revised Player Projections – The new Projection tables will utilise the Opta data to “project†Fantasy returns based on performance stats such as Goals Attempts, Key Passes, Successful Crosses, as well as key Fantasy data such as Goals, Assists and Clean Sheets. This data will be cross referenced with Team statistics and data from previous seasons to create Player Projections that will automatically update each week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

what are people's opinions on hleb(fantasy terms)? i have bought him ever since he has been in brum and has done nothing lately. should i just sell him? or give him another chance for his home game in GW9?

im thinking of the VDV A.Cole route. The only problem is I need to do it soon if either of them or N'Zog goes up 0.1m otherwise I cant afford to get Fabs in as well.

I dont really want to make early transfers but I might have to (Ive actually had better weeks where Ive done the transfers early and taken a 4 point hit)

All right I was off for much of yesterday evening so don't know if this has been debated.

But - why is Bale's assist not given if NZogbia's last week was given and that weird Hart assist earlier in the season and the Bent assist last season?

My mini league leader scored 57 yesterday, I need them 3 points! ğŸ™

If you look at the goal when Bale crosses it a Fulham def heads it (slightly) which brings it to Huddlestone. I think thats why there is no assist.

Basically, the ball played by Hart and the ball played by Bale were both affected similarly by the opposing defender. Whether they should be an assist or not, I don't know, but they both should be treated equally, and since Hart's was given, they should also award it to Bale.

No, that is not the case.

Plenty of assists have been given even with deflections.

When someone e-mailed them last week asking about the NZogbia assist they answered that because the ball was aimed for the scorer the assist stood even if it was deflected.

This ball was aimed for Huddlestone OR the other player standing close to him, very hard to say. I just feel they should be consequent in this. And if not I think that this one should be given because I have Bale and because the deflection not really mattered that much.

For what it's worth, I think you (Bale owners) are pretty hard done by tbh. The ball hardly changed direction after the header, and the pass was obviously meant for Huddlestone.

Mind you, the goal shouldn't have stood, so I wouldn't go complaining too much.

But, I can't see them changing it.

If Tevez doesn't start today, then he doesn't look like a great option going forward, as Balotelli is almost back, reducing the scoring burden on CT, and you want to be sure that Tevez plays in the easy PL matches where he can get big scores, and not just being saved for the big games and the later rounds of the Europa League.

I agree in a sense with this - but then why would Mancini make Tevez captain if he is gonna rest him? Your captain is someone that barring injury, is more or less going to play every game.

Speaking of captains, did Alcaraz start the game yesterday as Wigan captain? It's just I noticed that he was wearing the armband towards the end of the game.

I bet his English is even worse than Tevez's! If that's actually possible....

Tevez along with a couple others will never be rotated that much. That's not to say that he won't get rested if Mancini thinks he truly needs it. I got the impression that the "rest" Mancini is going to give him will be by convincing Argentina to not call him up for the next friendly.

        Not so quiet anymore....

His assist from yesterday is one of the most disgraceful I've ever seen. If anyone I knew actually had him then I'd be writing a mammoth email to FPL telling them what a joke they are.

I'm not so quietly planning the possibility of replacing him with RVP - so long as he stops being such a f*cking pansy and gets fit!

P.S. Why are you getting rid of him?! You love him!

          Why get rid?

Cos Id like VDV, N zogbia and to Keep Malouda with Nani & Fabregas aswell. Would look well decent.

I actually planned to change around a few defenders but the fixtures still rotate well enough to allow me to mess about attacking wise.

Its certainly not a definite yet but im considering my options.

Im in quite the quandary where I want him to score a few today but that would make losing him all the harder to do.

Yeah I think I really need VDV now. Stop everyone behind me in the league catching up.

To get him and Malouda I need to drop Tevez. The other option is to keep Tevez and get rid of Malouda. This would allow me Ashley Cole in defence too.

Where in that article does it say he is a rotation risk?

All it says is that he is due a rest and Balotelli will ease the burden of Tevez having to pretty much do everything on the attacking front.

It's like I said above, Mancini has made him captain - you don't make someone captain and then place him in the rotation line. And barring injury, I expect him to play most games with Ade and Mario providing cover.

Yep, only other 2 to have not played yet is Jones and Elmo, and since they are both defenders and I'm only playing 3 at the back then Konchesky would come on. Darn I chose wrong this week :-p I have been fortunate enough to not have had too many points left on the bench up until this point though so maybe it was due!

Anyone watch the Spurs game yesterday? I know the highlights on MOTD are a terrible indicator of how the game actually went, but it looked as though VDV did absolutely nothing aside from a couple of shots. Even Shearer said that he wasn't great, and the media have been overhyping him ever since he arrived...

Did he actually deserve 2 BPs? Or is it just another classic case of the judges rewarding the bandwagon jumpers? Like Dembélé away at Blackburn a few weeks back.

          Goals on sunday view:-
Huddleston shoots, Gallas offside but not interfering with play.
Ball takes deflection off Baird, Gallas no longer offside although he then looks to interfere.

The BP judges always have been idiots. IT's 50/50, stand out players will get awarded some of the time, but they always seem to be in the habit of picking a name out of the hat and awarding their points.

Well he had 3 opportunities to score on MOTD, one where he struck the bar, one that drew a decent save out of Schwarzer (should of probably scored though) and I can't remember the last one but remember thinking at the time he could have had a trick. That's dangerous/threatening enough for me, away at Fulham.

As for the Bp's though, too hard to tell from those highlights given.

He said last week at his unveiling on Friday that he would like to introduce himself to the Liverpool fans at Anfield, suggesting he wouldn't be in attendance for today's derby match, but new Reds owner John W Henry IS at Goodison Park. So early in his reign, and already the lies have started. That's a joke, by the way.

          The big question...

Even before Ivanovic had the chance to excel at RB last season, Carlo didn't seem to trust Bosingwa in the harder games. Ivanovic started against Liverpool and Utd, when Bosingwa was fully fit.

And now, Ivanovic has been excellent at RB for the past 12 months, so I can't see Bosingwa completely taking the role away from him. I'd imagine that Bos will play in the easier games and Ivan in the more difficult ones... But it will take more than a couple of weeks to judge just how much Carlo intends to play Bosingwa.

              Yup I did...

Even in the 20 mins that Bosingwa was on the pitch we hit on the counter a couple of times with Bosingwa and Cole high up the field. If they both charge up the field against anyone half decent then we could get brutally hit on the counter attack...

He was hardly going to say that Bosingwa is shit anyway... 😉

                  Why would you think that?

Before his injury he played in all but two games, Ancelloti must have selected him for a reason, ok people can say that he never played in two games but if he played in 10 and missed 2 it hardly points to him being second choice.

Because Ivanovic had hardly played at RB before that, and he turned out to be so good that he got in the PFA team of the year, not that that actually means a great deal...

And, in the first half of last season we were playing with a diamond midfield, which meant that we absolutely needed the full backs to get forward to provide width, hence why Bosingwa usually played.

This season it's a totally different formation, and isn't so reliant on width from the full backs, at least not both of them.

The PFA team is not even a talking point, if Rooney got injured and United have to play the little pea for 9 months and change the system does it then make him first choice when Rooney returns? Or will Chamakh keep Van Persie on the bench when he returns?

Football don't work like that, Ancelotti will know what his best team and I'm sure Bosingwa will be in it once fit, he picked him regulary before.

Ivanovich doing well at rb was a pure bonus but he's a centre back and that's where I'm guessing he wants to play.

Yeah it's Kolo. He already has Alcaraz coming on for O'Shea (which I incorporated into his points already) and so Jara would come on for Toure (1 point)

This a shout out to Fin Thompson, hard luck dude and thank you for taking a four point hit to bring in Rooney and for making him your captain. Well unless Jones can score a hat-trick and keep a clean sheet and turn water into wine I'm safe. I've also got 5 chickens by the way and their all unhatched.

Regarding the Wilshere tackle, read all the stuff about how he's a kid and what not and I agree that excuse should not fly. Truth be told, he has had it coming. He does seem a quick learner and I expect him to improve (for example, he seems to have cut out some overly fancy moves that he was prone to doing really quickly).

He may get more leniency from the press and I think he deserves it mainly because unlike Karl Henry and his band of thugs, he has held his hand up and said he deserved it- an indication that he is going to change. The likes of Shawcross on the other hand have since their leg breakers, come out and said that they have no intention of changing the way they play?!?! Mind boggling logic until you consider the fact that only their excessive physicality allows them to play in the premiership. No way they would survive a league such as La Liga.

Not really - it's clear to me that there was a massive overreaction to Shawcross' tackle, not least on this site. Wiltshere's tackle was not the first instance of his justified if ill-directed aggression, even this season. The difference is that Wiltshere is much more talented. However it is yet to be seen whether he has character or not ...

This is also why Kevin Davies waited until the age of 33 to make his international début. Not because he's bad at what he does, but because he's a massive liability, and even against Montenegro was lucky to last his whole 20 minutes of action.

The problem with English football is that it's too conservative. I remember Nani getting sent off at Villa, and the Soccer Saturday team all going "pah that's nothing, in my day he'd have got a pat on the back". No one seems to understand that the game is getting faster and stronger, porkers like Paul Merson wouldn't get near a professional football team these days, footballers are athletes.

It's such a shame. If you're 6 foot and quick you're already way ahead of someone with genuine talent who isn't.

In Stoke's case you don't even have to be quick....

Hello Jon Walters. Apparently he's better than Tuncay and Gudjohnsen. I don't see it...

If I was Tuncay, I'd be throwing tantrums basically every week that Stoke teamsheet came out. He's their most talented player, yet still can't get off the bench.

Why did Pulis bother with him in the first place?

So that he can say things like: "we have talented players like Tuncay. Why would they join us if we were such a bad team?"
