A game being billed as the most important Merseyside derby in years kicks off a double bill of Sunday afternoon fixtures. NESV-owned Liverpool travel up the road to city rivals Everton, with both sides looking for only their second win of the campaign.

Everton will already be confident of inflicting defeat on their arch-rivals for the first time in the league for over four years, but that confidence will be bolstered with the team news. Jamie Carragher fills in at right-back for the injured Glen Johnson, Steven Gerrard partners Lucas Leiva in defensive midfield and Phil Jagielka passes a late fitness test to play…

Everton XI: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Coleman, Heitinga, Arteta, Osman, Cahill, Yakubu

Liverpool XI: Reina, Carragher, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Gerrard, Lucas, Meireles, Cole, Maxi, Torres

The final game of the day sees Manchester City visit Bloomfield Road, with most fantasy-managers praying for contrasting returns for a certain Argentinian. That game kicks off at 4pm.

    hey guys, this is the first time iv done fpl and tbh its not going so well!

    i started badly by putting faith in liverpool and iv never realy got my feet back. i think i have sorted it now but a few pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    i dont kno how to link my team yet haha so im just gna write it out.

    my team as of next week is :

    robinson (soderberg)

    elmo/cashley/ ridgewell/gohouri/ baptiste

    fabregas/ adam/nani/ vdv / mikel

    drogba / berb / dembele

    team is worth 101.0
    and i have .7 in the bank

    iv already lost 16 points trying to sort it out and really dont wanna lose any more.

    does it look ok?

      It's good. Soderburg's a mystery and I think you may be able to do better than Mikel.
      Otherwise, I think you're getting the hang of it very fast.

      i only just put fab in last week for malouda, and i wasted my wildcard in game week 3 haha! didnt really get what it did. i just thought it gave you 1 free transfer. and mikel was just because if i didnt get some1 for this game week i would have had only 9 players fit to play! eeeuuurgh its taking over my life haha.

      The stats dont back you up. You posted this alot last year and I remember you were very wrong.
      Only time they played together and didnt tear it up last season was in august when Tevez wasnt fit.

    On 49 (doubt Konchesky will get any BP) with Elmo and Mignolet to play, opponent in cup is on 46 (with Arteta to get 3 BP probably which would give him 49) with Elmo to play.

    Just need a positive score from Mignolet (or for him not to play and Foster to come in) to get through. 😀

        Ya I had planned not making a move but some players arent really performing, Gerrard, Koncheskey , Davies and possible Malouda due to a rotation risk.

        Basically if I want the likes of N zogbia or VDV il have to get them this week it seems.

        Its seems there is alot of value in midfield this year where im pretty weak.

          Davies is annoying me. I'm loathe to get rid of him because of fixtures and he is still pretty involved in Fulham's play, but he really isn't scoring well at the moment.

    What is the thoughts on the team? My only problem is perhaps the defence. Kolarov and Samba are good and both will be attacking threats in their teams aswell as solid defensively.

    The two people I am considering in my defense are those a lot have: Coleman and Al Muhammadi. I had Al-Muhammadi from the start and he got me a clean sheet but I got rid before his Attacking Points/Bonus. These are again attacking threats and in a team I would look to be getting some clean sheets as well.

    My questions are though:

    1. Is Coleman likely to play mid-term (ie the next 4 weeks atleast?) The transfer woulf be Faye>>>Coleman, probably this week.
    2. Who would you pick Samba or Al-Muhammadi? They have some tougher fixtures like Chelsea, Liverpool and Sprus away, but also have Newcastle and Wigan in there during consecutive gameweeks?
    2. Thoughts on attacking part of my team?

      Coleman looks a good prospect at 4.4, and Everton are keeping a fair few cleanies these days. Well worth it if he stays in the team

      I would go for Samba over Elmo. Samba is such a threat from set pieces, while it seems Sunderland need to be playing really well for Elmo to have an impact in midfield, although he is the slightly cheaper option

      Forward line is similar to mine, except I haven't got round to bringing in Fabregas yet. Could you possibly replace Ferguson with Barton who is on set pieces for Newcastle and more likely to get BPs?
