Another week, another chance for Fantasy Football Scout to spread our wings and dabble in our favourite FPL distraction, the Metro Fantasy Football game.

As mentioned this time last week, we’ve now taken on the mantle of “tipster” for the folks over at the Metro and our choice picks for the upcoming Gameweek have been published again here for those who dabble in the Opta powered game. Believe it or not, we’ve even found room for a Liverpool player.

Stevie G gets the Metro nod with team-mate Fernando Torres just shy of the mark. The same can be said for Chelsea’s Florent Malouda who, as in most weeks, finds himself overshadowed by Didier Drogba’s credentials. Midweek Champions League heroics demonstrated the devastation that Gareth Bale can produce, but he too lost out to a team-mate, despite the “out of position” sensibilities. For those in the dark, Bale is classified as a Defender in Metro; happy days.

As usual, the punt card presents far too many options. Jose Bosingwa is due to make his first start on return from injury and falls just shy of a selection, I’ve a hunch that Aleksander Hleb will open his Birmingham account against the gracious Blackpool defence, and Chris Brunt (see Sir Paulos’ earlier Watchlist article) at home to Fulham has a clear chance to continue boosting his impressive returns. These are just the tip of a Titanic-sinking iceberg.

Check out our six Metro darlings for Gameweek Nine in full via this link.

i hope cashley plays and scores this week finally, might get me through in the cup and then i can sell while he's high in price.

Why sell him? Chelsea look a great bet for cleansheets against whoever they play and cashley's virtually oop...

the annoying thing about the scoutpicks is that i have coleman and carson on the bench in favour of foster n dann. Its put a doubt in my mind.

The other annoying thing is im half pissed and i have to work tomorrow... 🙁

Blackpool score in most games. Doubling up on Birmingham might not be the best thing this week.

Well with the week he had it wouldnt be a massive surprise if Ameobi started.

For me its 50:50 . Hughton has done it previously which is my worry.

    Foster
    Elmo Salcido Jose Enrique
    Nani Bale Arteta Malouda N'Zogbia
    Carroll/Dembelé Drogba

    Subs: Hahnemann, ? Knight, Alex.

1 transfer, will have to wait on Arteta's injury, but presuming he gets the go-ahead, was thinking Alex to Zhirkov.

    Thoughts please?

My thought on Zhirkov is simple. When Lamps is back will he play. Unlikely in midfield. Unlikely at fullback as Cashley is nailed on so I am afraid no unless you are doing a one gameweek wonder.

Am thinking exact same question. Feeling about Brunt at the mo but just feel long term surely Adam and Nzog are better. So still thinking on it. Also thinking would I be better to bring in Bosingwa but just don't know which transfer is going to be more worth it this week.

🙂 Wait till Malouda starts, gets a hat-trick, an assist, a clean sheet and 3 BPs. Jamsie P may have to hide in an Austrian cellar for a few years.

Dunno if this counts as news, since I reckon we know he's knackered, but a certain M Arteta was on the same easyjet Liverpool to Malaga flight as me yesterday. Stopped short of trying to get him to sign the Celtic jersey my 12yo had on.

Already lobstered, to the astonished hilarity of our hosts.
