While Charles N’Zogbia gets all the attention from the Fantasy Premier League Bonus Point decision makers, he will go on attracting the interest of Fantasy Managers. The Frenchman takes his place in my Picks this week, but for a while I was deliberating taking a gamble on Wigan’s Spanish playmaker Jordi Gomez.

A firm favourite of Roberto Martinez, Gomez has established himself in the support role playing off the lone striker in recent weeks and our Members’ Opta stats tables show that he’s taken his opportunity. Gomez is firing in shots, playing his part at set-plays and generally having a significant influence on Wigan’s attacking ploys.

A home fixture with Bolton this weekend offers Roberto Martinez’ side further opportunity to make strides. If we see goals at the DW Stadium, then N’Zogbia will likely have a hand in one or two but I also suspect that Gomez will get in on the act. At 4.8 he offers a budget prospect and with just a fraction of FPL owners, Gomez is the definition of a differential.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

        Tough spot... don't blame you for looking for help, either Varney or Campbell could be worth the risk at 4.5. But, why don't you save the transfer until you can find a way to get at least one more quality striker rather than another budget striker.

      I have no idea why he gets so much love on here. At best I'd call him an average Championship level striker.

      Varney is just a much better footballer all round and a better investment. QPR were after Varney before he joined Blackpool but they had no interest in Campbell when he was available last season. Tells you all you need to know really.

      I drafted in Adam and not N Zogbia. B'pool have scored twice as many goals and will attack all the time. Adam will outscore N Zogbia between now and the end of the season imo

        I did N'Zogbia this week as he has home game and I think he's better than Adam.

        Plus, everyone else in my mini league has Adam but none of them have N'Zogbia.

      how about alex out, elmo in this week for free and don't take the point hits, leaving:

        agree with point hits but i was left with foley at chelsea and ive been after mummy for a few weeks ,prob first and last hits for the year and if i had last saturday back wouldnt have done bale to zogs in fact ive played crap ff all week ,glad this weeks out the way tbhand cheers 4 the response venice.

    Is it worth to get 4 point hit for ship out O'Shea to Bosingwa or Elmo ?

      i would feel comfortable with any 3 of jara,alcaraz,dann,o'shea that you have, don't see a reason to lose 4 points. do you see bosingwa/elmo outscoring O'Shea by 4+ points this week?

      ive actually done 2 defender hits this week ,prob madness,but i mostly play in h2h league and im not overly concerned about my grand total ,so i would do oshea to bosingwa as i think he will score plenty this year ,i tght he played ok when he came on at villa last week ,i think hes a good thing to be a starter.

      Depends. If you are concerned about O'Shea long term then get him out. But if it's just for this week then no, don't take a hit.

      I took a 4 pt hit this week to get Elmo and N'Zogbia. But Elmo was to replace Shawcross and I intend to play him every week from hereon in so he was my free transfer. Nasri to N'Zogbia was my 2nd to free up cash for Fabs next week. Realistically he could outscore Nasri this week by 4 as he's likely to get the 3 baps in his game. Can't honestly see Nasri doing much against Citeh. Even if he does, he'd be gone next week for Fabs anyway and I'd have to take 4pt hit then, so may as well do it in time to catch his price rise last night.

        Kamara will start after he scored, and I believe Dembele is fit, even though physio room has him as 2 weeks to return, Hughes didn't mention him in the press conference which implies he starts IMO.. plus Fulham have major problems in midfield so its very likely that Dempsey will be playing on the wing and not striker

    Who would have thought that Torres would be a differential?

    Not many I guess. Anyway, need to get some risks again and as he is my second most expensive player and plays against a weak away team and Samba-less Blackburn, I have to captain him. If he can't get big points tomorrow when will he?

    Torres it is therefore. If he finally moves out from Liverpool, he should do it on a high. I just hope the midfielder will provide him with some descent through ball...

      I'm banking on Zhirkov coming in for Ramires, like he did mid-week. Kalou is still not fully fit, and even before his injury, he wasn't starting. I don't think he will jump into the team as a starter unless someone is being rested.
