While Charles N’Zogbia gets all the attention from the Fantasy Premier League Bonus Point decision makers, he will go on attracting the interest of Fantasy Managers. The Frenchman takes his place in my Picks this week, but for a while I was deliberating taking a gamble on Wigan’s Spanish playmaker Jordi Gomez.

A firm favourite of Roberto Martinez, Gomez has established himself in the support role playing off the lone striker in recent weeks and our Members’ Opta stats tables show that he’s taken his opportunity. Gomez is firing in shots, playing his part at set-plays and generally having a significant influence on Wigan’s attacking ploys.

A home fixture with Bolton this weekend offers Roberto Martinez’ side further opportunity to make strides. If we see goals at the DW Stadium, then N’Zogbia will likely have a hand in one or two but I also suspect that Gomez will get in on the act. At 4.8 he offers a budget prospect and with just a fraction of FPL owners, Gomez is the definition of a differential.

I have a complex question about roll over transfers and wildcard.

I had two free transfers for GW 8 when I played my WC.

I made my two free transfers, but then changed my mind, and played the wildcard. For this week, I only have 1 free transfer. The WC ate my roll over transfer.

If I had pressed "play wildcard" button before making any changes, would that have preserved my two frees for this week?

Something to think about for the January WC.

  No, you should never have 2 frees when playing the WC in the 1st place. Should have used the trade in the previous GW. Your WC wasn't planned so that didn't help.

    I realize I probably should have saved my WC for GW10.
    
    But it was all setup so well with Fabregas supposedly coming back, then shot after he didn't play in the Birmingham game.
    
    Now I'm looking at a 4 pt hit to get him in.
    
    O well... I got Ashley Cole, Nasri, Van Der Vaart and revamped my defense, so I guess it wasn't a complete waste.

I currently have jara as sub #1, which i have a feeling will come into play this weekend, but after reading about Fulham's injuries, wondering if I need to make sure to get a potential cleanie into my starting XI. I consider two guys Jara could replace. Coleman and Carroll. Since I have VDV and Bale at the moment, I thought I'd play coleman just in case bale and VDV burn me an spurs dont score. I have carroll in because i still believe he can score but he's got alot of baggage to deal with right now, and guardian has him not making a start tomorrow. (i know guardian squad sheets are not gospel, but they did say last week carroll wouldnt start and nailed it)

I guess thats a really wordy way to simply ask:

ok lads, squeaky bum time- need some good advice and help on this one. w/nani sure to rise in a few hours, do i:

1. transfer in for arteta now, or
2. go w/original plan: use two free transfers next week to downgrade cole to boss then get nani in for ethers.

if i go w/option 1 then i'd have to do one transfer next week (cole to boss) and wait another weeek to get arteta back (in for ethers). problem is i bought arteta at 8.5, so i'd be losing .3. please help, cheers!

i need a level head to talk to me!
i think im in good shape for the week and my prospective team is:
foster
coleman konchesky mummy
nani malouda nzogbia gerrard
tevez drogba(C) caroll
subs: jussi, salcido, albrighton, shawcross

so at first i played with the idea of bringing in bosingwa, but i wont

so will i bring in simpson this week and not play him?
or bring in jara and play him instead of carroll
or do nothing?

(my eventual plan is getting rid of shawcross, konchesky, and gerrard for fabs, simpson and x)

I currently have jara as sub #1, which i have a feeling will come into play this weekend, but after reading about Fulham’s injuries, wondering if I need to make sure to get a potential cleanie into my starting XI. I consider two guys Jara could replace. Coleman and Carroll. Since I have VDV and Bale at the moment, I thought I’d play coleman just in case bale and VDV burn me an spurs dont score. I have carroll in because i still believe he can score but he’s got alot of baggage to deal with right now, and guardian has him not making a start tomorrow. (i know guardian squad sheets are not gospel, but they did say last week carroll wouldnt start and nailed it)

I guess thats a really wordy way to simply ask:

    Cheers mate - notice you've got yourself up to second place.
    
    Big fan of Bale but VdV is causing a lot more of the play to go through the middle, and when Bale is crossing them in Crouch and co are fluffing them.
    
    Looking at bring VdV in sooner rather than later so wouldn't want Bale in there as well.
    
    Bit worried about Carroll - I had him in for the hat-trick v Villa - but disappointing since then.
    
    I'll ponder it - although Harry said Bale was running on empty he was hoping that there was still a bit left in the tank, so I assume he'll play him, particularly with the number of injuries Spurs have.
