While Charles N’Zogbia gets all the attention from the Fantasy Premier League Bonus Point decision makers, he will go on attracting the interest of Fantasy Managers. The Frenchman takes his place in my Picks this week, but for a while I was deliberating taking a gamble on Wigan’s Spanish playmaker Jordi Gomez.

A firm favourite of Roberto Martinez, Gomez has established himself in the support role playing off the lone striker in recent weeks and our Members’ Opta stats tables show that he’s taken his opportunity. Gomez is firing in shots, playing his part at set-plays and generally having a significant influence on Wigan’s attacking ploys.

A home fixture with Bolton this weekend offers Roberto Martinez’ side further opportunity to make strides. If we see goals at the DW Stadium, then N’Zogbia will likely have a hand in one or two but I also suspect that Gomez will get in on the act. At 4.8 he offers a budget prospect and with just a fraction of FPL owners, Gomez is the definition of a differential.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Alright people. Sure this has come up in some sort of permutation already but not sure what to do. Currently lining up at the back like this

      Foster

      (Williamson), Jones, Dann, Coleman,(Toure)

Do you think it's worth a 4 point hit and move Toure to Elmo? Don't really rank any of my current back line to keep a clean sheet but at least I'll be going into battle with 2 potentially 3 midfielders playing in defence (If I go for Jones over Dann to spread the risk a little)

If I do I can get Fabregas in next week with no hit!

Yes - and I'm not sure that dropping Tevez or Malouda is the best way to get points. I'm not even sure that Fabs can do it this year.
He'll be injured again by Christmas anyway.
And before anyone says anything about that statement, it's just as viable as all the "He'll score a thousand points" kind of statements that pollute this forum.

You've got to take the captaincy issue into consideration.

Malouda is very expensive, not in standout form, subject to occasional rotation, and you already have Drogba to cover matches where you want a chelsea captain.

Fab has great fixtures the next 3, and if, IF, he is looking back to his normal self, could easily hit 30 pts in those 3.

Ok, I'm taking a 4pt hit to bring in either Konchesky or Bosingwa.

Bosingwa is preferable, but Konch allows me to get Fabregas next week in fewer transfers.

Someone tell me that Konch is just as likely to get an assist as Bosingwa...

True, I'm just afraid Chelsea are going to run up a cricket score tomorrow with Bos notching an assist or 2.

It's gonna have to be Konch, just have to hope Liverpool turn it around tomorrow.

Bos's price being protected makes it easier as well, least he won't rocket next week if he does have a killer GW.

Im may get Coleman in the morning as I dont want only 10 players if Enrique is injured and Carroll/ Malouda are rested.

I fancy West Ham to keep Carroll quite under the lights.

Not really. Carroll is 5.5 now. That drop just cost me 0.1 as I can only get 5.2 not 5.3

I'm struggling with 3 things this week, any help would be great!

      1) Foster or Hart?
      2) Arshavin(away to Man City) or Ferguson(home to Blackpool)
      3) Captain... Malouda or Tevez? All the rumours about Malouda being rested are making me lean towards Tevez.

        1) Im going with Hart
        2) Tough call but I would find it tough to bench Ferguson at home to Blackpool
        3) Malouda 4 Captain - I see big Chelsea scores

If Enrique's out Nolan will come in: Newc-for-Newc.

Oh yeah, I seem to have left Drogba out...

My team for this week... my question is who to play and who to bench?

      Foster
      Alcaraz, Elmohamady, Colman, A Cole
      Nani, VDV, Malouda, Nzog
      Berbs, Drogba (c)

      Bench at the moment is
Bale, Williamson, Carroll - in that order

Final few touches (oo-errrr) to my team.

Had in mind Nasri>Malouda. With the "uncertainty" over whether Malouda will even start. I'm now seriously contemplating Nasri>Fabregas.

      Constructive comments welcomed.

It is never a bad time to put in Cesc. But it looks like you can easily put out a good XI this GW so i'd be very tempted to leave it and take two next week.

I think Fabregas can wait until next week. I'm expecting Malouda to play and be in the thick of a 4-0 drubbing. But he could make way in my team next week for Arteta/Tim Cahill.

I don't think there's any substance behind the Malouda nonsense.

I would love to get Fabs in, I'm just reluctant to take a hit or drop Malouda or Nani to do so.

        Thanks chaps.

Just done Nasri>Malouda. Perhaps it was simply one of those "trying to be too damn smart for ones own good" moments.

        Fab my son. Next week.
