While Charles N’Zogbia gets all the attention from the Fantasy Premier League Bonus Point decision makers, he will go on attracting the interest of Fantasy Managers. The Frenchman takes his place in my Picks this week, but for a while I was deliberating taking a gamble on Wigan’s Spanish playmaker Jordi Gomez.

A firm favourite of Roberto Martinez, Gomez has established himself in the support role playing off the lone striker in recent weeks and our Members’ Opta stats tables show that he’s taken his opportunity. Gomez is firing in shots, playing his part at set-plays and generally having a significant influence on Wigan’s attacking ploys.

A home fixture with Bolton this weekend offers Roberto Martinez’ side further opportunity to make strides. If we see goals at the DW Stadium, then N’Zogbia will likely have a hand in one or two but I also suspect that Gomez will get in on the act. At 4.8 he offers a budget prospect and with just a fraction of FPL owners, Gomez is the definition of a differential.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have managed to stop myself from taking a 12 point hit this week and decided to gradually brng in Drogba in 3 weeks time.

    Malouda => Adam
    Caroll => Drogba
    Richards => Simpson

And i am captaining Gerrard. Hope this plan really works out or i will be cursing swearing on why i never take that 12 point hit.

Btw, which 2 should i play, Erthington, Caroll or Dann ( i put carson as keeper )

You have to play Bale and Adam. Adam is shining against everyone at the moment; on top of Bale's CL outburst look at the matchup -- he is rampaging on the wing against Phil Neville (stinks and is slow) and Seamus Coleman.

Kirkland is horrible; Wigan will concede and Alcaraz will do nothing. Coleman's crosses may find the resurgent Yakubu or Cahill, so Coleman is the pick and not that close.

    The perfect gameweek...

The 12:45 sees 2 goals including a penalty from Van der Vaart in a 2-0 victory for Spurs over Everton.

Carson's motm performance and penalty save ensure West Brom see off Fulham in a 2-0 victory

Birmingham scrape a 1-0 over Blackpool with a Dann assist for Boywer's goal.

Sunderland enjoy a comfortable 2-0 win over Villa with Elmo notching up a goal & assist.

A brace from Drogba and a third from Malouda sees Chelsea run out 3-1 victors. Bosingwa provides 2 asssits before being subbed on 65. Ashley Cole scores an o.g 5 minutes later.

Wigan vs Bolton gets postponed. Nobody notices.

Liverpool suffer an emabarrassing home defeat to Blackburn. Gerrard sent off for being a gent.

Two Tevez goals arent enough to beat Arsenal as City slump to a 3-2 defeat. Bendtner hatrick dontyouknow.

West Ham draw 1-1 with Newcastle

Stoke manage a 2-2 draw with Man United. Berbatov grabs two from O'Shea & Nani assists.

Also in the news: Natalie Portman agrees to marry me.

Tricky one. Dann gives the set piece threat, and while WBA has been solid defensively at times, Dann is the better bet at homefor a CS and possible set piece returns. Dann it is then.

Blackpool looked unconvincing with their set piece defense against MCY. With BIR struggling, one can expect RJohnson and Dann to crash into the 6 yard box for set piece goal/assist.

    Which 2 to bench?

    1) Coleman - Unlikely to keep a CS against Spurs.
    2) Alcaraz - Second to Coleman in the scout picks
    3) Bale - Already have VDV and could be rested, up against tough Everton defense.
    4) Williamson - AWAY against West Ham

Bench Alcaraz, Kirkland is horrible and will concede. I would bench Williamson, only because both NEW and EVE are on the road and far from certain for a CS, and Coleman's cosses to Yak and Cahill seem promising. So, play Bale and Coleman.

I like it except I would start Carroll or Barton ahead of Jara. Jara offers only small CS potential, whereas WHM (though home) have been leaky at the back. The edgy criminality of Barton and Carroll seem poised for returns. If you feel assured of a Carroll start go for him -- WHM have been shaky on set piece defense.

Sooooo, Gameweek 9. Please don't draw again Man United!

I've stuffed up what was a decent start in the last few weeks, and I think i'll hold off trading out Evans until next week when I get 2 free transfers.

Alex on the bench again 🙁 Hope he's back next week.

Missed the Nani, VDV, Adam and other decent boats, mainly beause I can't fit them into my midfield. Fab owes me for keeping faith in him.

Drogba captain, Jaska in goal, let's get that 177K ranking back inside the top 100K!

I think O'Shea and Carroll are better options than Hleb. One could see a MUN CS as van der sar and the defesne will look to put the WBA debacle behind them. Can't see Ethers or Ken Jones getting one over on MUN. As for Carroll, I agree he seems due and WHM defense, esp v set oieces, is woeful. You know Carroll is an angry dude, and he might just put in an unplayable shift -- give the (alleged)criminal a chance.

        Dann

        Jara

with fulham injuries, baggies could get a cleanie for jara?

Just take the hit and save the WC for upcoming double gameweeks. cesc is worth a hit, esp if you captain him...

you dont need cesc this weekend, downgrade one guy now then make a move for next week and lose only 4 points.

I would say 2 as it will give you more time to settle with a good team and Fabregas can take charge for the favorable fixtures thereafter.

        Piquionne or Obinna?

Piquionne has scored in his last 4 matchs (counting that clear winner he scored last week that was disallowed)

Obinna has been a point machine, with a high average, and he's not even scored a goal yet.

I like the Hammer's next few GWs.

How about O'Shea to Bosingwa, they are the same price.

        My team is:

        Foster

        Alex OShea Elmo

        Malouda Nani Bale Adam VDV

        Drogba Tevez

        Subs: Carson, Caroll, Coleman, Faye

        A few questions:
        1. Coleman was brought in this week for Jones. Any other tweaks: say Alex for Bosingwa (dont want to miss Chelsea battering Wolves). Would do this swop next week to raise cash for Fabregas.

        2. Who should be on the bench if i do Alex>Bosingwa? Is my current selection and order correct pleeeeeeeease?

        Cheers gang

Bosingwa is not a nailed on starter in the long term so could be for one week only, also I can see him coming off on 58 mins!!! But is a class act if he produces past form.

IUts a gamble that could pay off. Subs are fine I would of
say Caroll for Bale but you cant ignore that form in the week so keep Bale in!
