Drogba or bust.

That’s pretty much what the results of our Captain’s Poll is telling us this week; Didier Drogba is set to walk away with the armband crown at a canter, and is on 57% of those polled to date. It’s a one horse race, unless of course, you fancy a gamble or find yourself forced to back another nag.

Will a french filly named Malouda be enough to tempt you his way instead? He’s currently galloping along in second place with just 12% of your vote to date; behind him in third is the new flourishing breed from Holland – Van Der Vaart’s form is good but he’s still only clocked up a modest 8% of the vote to this point.

The real long shots aren’t getting much of a look in from our betting public. The horses in question are Carlos Tevez, Nani and Ashley Cole, all straggling along at the back, with just a few punters willing to gamble their Fantasy stake money. The remainder of the runners include the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Fernando Torres, Gareth Bale, Cesc Fabregas and Steven Gerrard – all big big names who to this point, have gathered just 7% of the vote. Conditions will surely improve for that pack in future Gameweeks, but as far as this weekend is concerned, they’re doing all they can to avoid the glue factory.

So, who are you backing? Don’t forget to go to the frontpage and place your vote and let us know all the same. Particularly if you’re one of the brave, or foolish, few who will be looking beyond the Ivorian thoroughbred.

Care to hazzard a guess at the back four for the next few games given Alex is out and Bosingwa plays James?

        Wolves:

        Bosingwa Ivanovic Terry Cole/Zhirkov

        Blackburn:

        Ivanovic Alex Terry Cole

        Liverpool:

        Ivanovic Alex Terry Cole

So, Bosingwa could possibly score more than Alex in just the one game, but then I don't think he'll play the next two. Ancelotti said we have to be patient with him in the press conference, so I wouldn't expect too much. He probably won't even play 90 mins against Wolves.

As ridiculous as this sounds in light of his disloyalty i think we may all be thanking rooney in a couple of seasons time for forcing sir alexs hand to buy the 'world class' players we have been hoping for in the past couple of seasons. Im just concerned for the future of berbatov as he is the most naturally gifted player ive ever seen only matched perhaps by maradona and bergkamp

I have Gardner and Davies to ship, could bench one. I'm wondering whether to bring in Adam or Brunt (and for who) or maybe both!

I also have an option of doing one of the above and bringing Berbatov for Carroll, making the holy trinity front line.

One thing I can't do is fit in Fabregas though 🙁

TBH- I'm quite tempted to bring in cashley, as I have the cash and (after drogba) he's chelsea's most reliable FPL player...
