Gameweek nine kicks off with Everton journeying down to London to face off against Spurs in our early kick off, and there’s a few changes afoot.

Harry Redknapp has drafted Rafael Van Der Vaart back into his team after sitting out the thrilling 4-3 defeat at Inter Milan a couple of days ago through suspension, Bale has a little petrol left to continue at left midfield while Kaboul and Palacios also drop into the starting eleven.

David Moyes sees Mikel Arteta assumedly fail his late fitness test to join Leon Osman in being replaced by Diniyar Bilyaletdinov and, returning from injury himself, Steven Pienaar. The teams in full are…

Spurs XI: Gomes; Hutton, Kaboul, Gallas, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Palacios, Modric, Bale; Van Der Vaart; Crouch.

Everton XI: Howard; Neville, Distin, Jagielka, Baines; Coleman, Heitinga, Pienaar, Bilyaletdinov; Cahill; Yakubu

We’ll then take in the 3pm kick-offs with the armband heavy Chelsea hosting Wolves drawing the most fantasy attention around other fixtures like West Brom versus Fulham and Sunderland versus Aston Villa, to name a couple. Rounding out our Saturday will be West Ham versus Newcastle in the late kick-off, Andy Carroll probably had to rent a car to make it down today.

The Chatroom will be open as usual throughout the day for those of you looking for interactive conversation fix.

You gotta love the humor on BBC Sport, on describing the Newcastle equaliser:

"Magpies goal: I wonder if Andy Carroll will get some rent off for setting his landlord up?..."

    lol 🙂

A move I would see. Rooney to Real Madrid for Benzema, Oezil, and about 20-30 million.

Lampard coming back soon, Kalou pushing for minutes, Champions League, and the fact that he was already rested for an EPL match which freaked out many of his owners, I wonder if rotation is in Malouda's future?

Mark intrigued me in his podcast when he said he was considering transferring A.Cole for Baines. Hmmmmmm!

I guess you mean Benzema's gran, Ozil's dog and 20-30 million M&Ms? Otherwise I don't think Real will be doing that deal.

Not as farfetched as people think. Ronaldo went for 60 million. How much did Essien go for? And he's a glorified Claude Makakele. Real Madrid buys players as much for marketing purposes as they do for football purposes. I know Oezil went to Real for 15 million.

If Ozil cost £15m and Benzema cost £25m, then Real won't value them lower. So that's £40m plus another £20m at least? Rooney valued at £60m? I don't think so.

Benzema has disappointed in Madrid and they have sold players, Michael Owen not withstanding, for less than they bought them for. They bought David Beckham and Michael Owen mainly so they could sell football shirts to young school girls in Asia. This is a chance to add a young galactico that Mourinho would love to have. Madrid is struggling to score goals, and Rooney is just what they need.

Makelele is a defensive midfeilder with intangibles just like Essien, although his attacking instincts have imporved over the years. I saw Essien in his younger years in Ghana and he was very raw.

Makelele was an outstanding player in every club he ever played for. Absolute world class.

I like Essien a lot but that he's 10 times the player Makelele was is absolute bollocks.

i would say he would offer more to team then makalele would...essien can do everything makalele did physically hes incredible he can get goals, tackle everything..
cm was the best bar none at what he did no doubting that, im not calling the guy shit but im just saying he was a bit one dimensional for me..
i also think that position has evolved and the player has to be able to do more
