Gameweek Nine saw 256 fantasy managers battle it out in the second round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power. Those involved surely know the outcome of their own fixture, so to see how everyone else faired this round click here.

If reading the results James Alexander Gordon-style isn’t for you, then read on for the round highlights. However, before I get onto listing the key outcomes, I have to bring you some tragic news… I am no longer involved in the competition, after a 51 – 40 robbery against JohnSteed01. A minutes silence will be observed before the round three fixtures.

One Fantasy Manager who might be able to get over that news is The Plutocrat who, after his 74 – 40 annihilation of timboeve (the widest margin of victory in the round), earns himself a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power.

Just missing out on the prize was rajmanutd who, along with chipsngravey (in a very northern outing), was involved in the highest scoring tie of the round, as the former prevailed 70 – 59.

At the other end of the spectrum was billyboychrisd‘s 37 – 33 victory over dadoune. Which wasn’t the lowest score jammy enough to win this weekend however, CarlowsGalacticos‘ narrow 36 – 35 ousting of Dino wins that award.

That was one of eleven match-ups decided by a single point, which included greghammer95‘s 53 – 52 win over hello 911 it’s quagmire….

Three fixtures went down to the tie-breaker of overall rank, which saw bossdrum, Chris81 and targa eliminate Clive, Burton and Mattenue respectively.

Contrasting fortunes for our former champions sees donnellyc marching on, thanks to a 40 – 31 victory over ham5ter, and Jonty doing one, as a result of his 55 – 48 loss at the hands of Ann_der_roo.

Granville is now the only contributor to have a berth in the tournament, as he saw off wolves_simmo with ease 50 – 32, with Pure Olivia (46 – 40 Ty_Durden67) and I getting beat.

So now we are down to 128, just 10% of everyone who entered the competition. They will learn of their opponent on Thursday when the third round fixtures (to be played during GW10) will pop up on the site.

Well done to those awaiting that fixture list (not you JohnSteed01), and commiserations to everyone bowing out this time round (some with more grace than others).

Ok after getting some really excellent opionions on the Fab v Malouda debate ive decided that im shit at this game, people here seem to not only know more about footie but execute proper well thought out strategies for buying players and using transfers, fixtures and captains chocies. In short i need your help Alan Partridge applebonkers and co! The team i have ended up with is in a state off disrepair and need some help to patch it up till my next wildcard

    Foster Hahnemann
    Toure, O'Shea, Colemann, Elmo, Jara
    Nani, Bale, Malouda, Barton, N'Zogbia
    Drogba, Tevez, Carroll
Would love to get Fabregas in for Bale rather than Malouda, Toure/O'Shea could go but for who??
    Please help guys, thank you

    Team for this week.

    Jaask (Foster)
    A.Cole Coleman Elmo (ShawX, Jara)
Nasri Fabregas (C) Malouda Nani VDV
    Heskey Tevez Carroll

How does it look? I could replace Heskey with any 5.7 or below Striker, but I think he could be good for a few weeks maybe, well my little punt anyways. That is after an 8 point hit btw. Or I could just do Malouda -> Fabs if Malouda rises (Unlikely).

I was thinking Odemwingie but SuperDorrans (A man in the know) seems to think Via his sources that Odem is a huge doubt, but may be on the bench.

Not convinced with starting Elmo this gameweek.

I might create a little controversy here. Still not convinced.

Elmo is the stand out chap at Sunderland, hence his hoovering up BP. Barton, Carroll & Nolan have all hoovered up BP regularly for Newcastle.

You'd be relying on Elmo's assists/BP potential. Sunderland have only scored 6 goals.

Early days, but I can't see myself starting Elmo.

Might be a bit of tinkerage. Not liking the lack of cleverley in the wigan squad. He must be injured... therefore, might take a punt on Brunt as no one in my friends league will even think about him. I'm one point behind the leader though so points hits have to be justified and not just played through boredom.

Translated means "Dear lord, what have I got myself into, its only a matter of time before he plays for United as the money has run out after the Rooney deal and they will have no choice but to play this clown, he's certainly not good enough to play for my Wigan so we'll leave him on the bench for most of his loan"

Very good. Brunt looks very decent, I couldnt go for 2 WBA players.

Im actually tempted to sell Tevez & about 4 others..Must snap out of it 😀

Selling A Cole is proving to be very annoying.

Do you think Bosingwa's position at right back is under threat this week? Might he play Ferreira? And if not, is Alex due back soon? In which case, Ivanovic might go RB...

Also not convinced anymore that Coleman will start every game. Unless anyone else can tell me otherwise.

Basically the reason behind this discussion is that I need FABREGAS and I'm thinking I will be dropping Malouda for him. I therefore need to drop EVRA for someone less than 6million. Alternative is to drop Chamakh for someone like Hernandez (6.9 or under) but that would be stupid, given their fixtures.

    Help......
