Nani has indicated that he could yet figure in Saturday’s Old Trafford encounter with Wolves.
Talking to United’s official site, the winger has revealed that his injury is a minor setback and he could well be in the frame for inclusion against Mick McCarthy’s side….
“It was a bit of a pain in the groin, I’m hoping to be fit for Saturday (against Wolves) but we’ll see how it is over the next day or so. I am doing well at the moment and I enjoy the pressure of being an important member of the team.”
This comes after Alex Ferguson had confirmed that Nani, along with ankle injury victim Darren Fletcher, would miss out after sustaining setbacks in the 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor on Tuesday.
“Unfortunately, Nani has a groin injury and is out for Saturday.”
With Florent Malouda set to miss trip to Anfield and doubts still surrounding the involvement of Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal against Newcastle, many Fantasy Managers will be at a loss for their next move. It would appear however, that Nani is well and truly in the frame for a start at City next Wednesday. Ferguson would seem unlikely to risk the winger against Wolves with the local derby game in mind, but for many, the promise of Nani returning to action and missing just one game will be enough to see them hold firm rather than take a loss on a player who is surely set to challenge for the leading points scorer in the Fantasy Premier League this season.
