Nani has indicated that he could yet figure in Saturday’s Old Trafford encounter with Wolves.

Talking to United’s official site, the winger has revealed that his injury is a minor setback and he could well be in the frame for inclusion against Mick McCarthy’s side….

“It was a bit of a pain in the groin, I’m hoping to be fit for Saturday (against Wolves) but we’ll see how it is over the next day or so. I am doing well at the moment and I enjoy the pressure of being an important member of the team.”

This comes after Alex Ferguson had confirmed that Nani, along with ankle injury victim Darren Fletcher, would miss out after sustaining setbacks in the 3-0 Champions League win over Bursaspor on Tuesday.

“Unfortunately, Nani has a groin injury and is out for Saturday.”

With Florent Malouda set to miss trip to Anfield and doubts still surrounding the involvement of Cesc Fabregas for Arsenal against Newcastle, many Fantasy Managers will be at a loss for their next move. It would appear however, that Nani is well and truly in the frame for a start at City next Wednesday. Ferguson would seem unlikely to risk the winger against Wolves with the local derby game in mind, but for many, the promise of Nani returning to action and missing just one game will be enough to see them hold firm rather than take a loss on a player who is surely set to challenge for the leading points scorer in the Fantasy Premier League this season.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Perhaps a dumb question but 3 games in 7 days? Will they all be separate game weeks? Or double game weeks?

Like most on here have gone with the cheap defence option so far and all the cash on forwards and midfield. Just wondering now defences are settling down and more clean sheets are coming and Rooney/Torres/Berbs not delivering, whether it may be time to switch tactics and go for a Vidic/Baines/Cole defence and bring in some cheaper forwards? What do you guys think?

The last two GWs, my defenders have saved my bacon.
Vidic looks a good buy. But I already have Evra.
A Cole is expensive now (fortunately I bought him in GW1)
      Baines is on my list.

How about a Birmingham or Villa defender? Or Samba or Nelsen from Blackburn?

This Nani/Malouda situation is a right conundrum, no mistake.
I am tempted to bench the injured players & play 5 defenders:

Samba, clean sheet + goal = 12 pts
Ridgewell, clean sheet + goal = 12 pts
Elmo (C), clean sheet + assist + man of the match = 24 pts
Evra, clean sheet + assist = 9 pts
    A Cole, clean sheet + assist = 9 pts
Jaaskelainen, clean sheet = 6 pts
    ---
72 pts from the defence. Who needs expensive midfielders & attackers?
    --
Midfield of Nasri, Ethers, Yaya Toure
    Varney + Chamakh up front
    A guaranteed ton!

The problem is that if they miss this GW surely unlikely to make midweek games so may be better to take a hit now?

Because defenders are more high-risk. All it takes is one deflection, one incorrect decision by the official, one shot bouncing back off the post and hitting that tool Scott Carson and going in and your week is destroyed.

My thoughts for anyone who's arsed is to sit and wait for news. Come sat i may consider Mal>Arteta/Cahill, this will free up some funds for getting Tevez back. Malouda does have a nice run but i have drogs and getting shut of nani would mean no utd cover. I think Malouda money can go a long way in midfield tbh.

I'll be making the same move. Not sure whether to get Tezez back, or draft in Vidic/Evra. Noe Evans is out the side, Utd look solid again.

I was really sad, played it all the time, with my own mini leagues etc.. and naming players. Showing my age, my best subbuteo players were Andy Gray and Bob Latchford - although i'm Man U fan. I wonder how they would have performed in FF?

    HELP NEEDED!!

    el habsi, jaaskelainan

    jags, elmo, bosingwa, foley, givet
    cesc,vdv, nani, barton, albgton
    berba, chamakh drogs

Obvious midfield injury issues, but need to get a cheap striker in to get fat frank in for wednesday games. Am sticking to max 4 point hit rule and have played wildcard.

Thinking hernandez fro berbs, but really need a cheap midfielder whose gonna play. Should I lose vdv or nani or bench them and play 4-3-3. And who do i get?

    Nani and Tevez.

    Will they play?

I was tempted yesterday to go Nani > Arteta, but now that he looks like he's going to be fit, I might just hold?

The midweek Manchester derby is really killing me. Both of them could be rested for that match, and I don't want to have to rely on my bench this week, especially with Van Der Vaart also a doubt.

What're your thoughts on this shower, not sure whether to bench Ferguson or Carroll! ...

    Foster (Carson)
    Konchesky Coleman Elmo (Simpson Foley)
    Fabregas Malouda VdV Nani (Ferguson)
    Drogba Berbatov (Carroll)

OPT1: Keep same and use two freebies next GW
    OPT2: Konchesky OUT, Alex IN
    OPT3: Berbatov OUT, Hernandez IN

Which is best? I'm swaying towards sitting tight and riding the waves this week.

    Repeat Question...

I have a cheap midfield slot open...was thinking Barton as he seems to be involved in attack and some...BUT is a threat for suspension with his yellows...

Now Ferguson steals BPs at home and would assure me 2/3 or 5/6 pts a week (depending on Games)...

Both will essentially be my 1st sub for most of the season (in theory)...Now do I get in Barry for West Ham (Home game for Birm) or do I get Barton as I have my eye on him for the rest of the season...

If there is an argument to keep Ferguson throughout then I would be open to hear it out..

this week is hilarious - if ever there was time to wait until Friday this is it - even that is too early and too many unknowns will still be there.
I have VDV, Tevez, Nani and feel like holding my transfers until next week at this point. I was thinking of Fabs but cant unless I take a hit for Hernandez (for Tevez) too and only cos they have a nice GW but for one week only
Thank god I dont have Malouda - if I had, the gun pointing at my head currently would have had its trigger pulled.

Nani, Malouda, Heskey all on the bench leaves me gambling on both VDV and Fabregas, and with a 5-man def of Coleman-Konch-Elmo-Jones-Dann...not to mention doubling up on Arsenal with Nasri.
