It’s a flip-flop and we’re not talking about our fantasy island risk footwear. Courtesy of a dream wildcard, in 3 weeks I’ve turned a significant deficit around to a 20 point lead.

Mark is miffed, he feels trapped. Malouda, his comfort blanket now resembles a strait jacket, tightening its grip on his budget as he wrestles with the consequence of finally selling him.

Listen to us as we go tête-à-tête on the subjects of buying versus selling price, profit versus points and success versus failure, or better described as Granville versus Mark 😉

NB. Addendum – The Malouda injury hadn’t been revealed to Mark at the time of this recording. Ouch

Joey Barton is the best passing midfielder England have produced since Paul Scholes.

there you go, I've said it.

      Fail 🙂

Tom Huddlestone, Carrick, Danny Murphy all better passers than Barton.

Give Jack Wilshere a couple of years, he could be up there with the best of them. Scholes is the best since Glenn Hoddle.

Yawnage Partridge. I wouldnt overstate the case as Cheggars might of, but Barton is an excellent passer of the ball, and hes having a good season. If he acts the maggot again fair enough, I'll hold my hands up and chuck rocks like everyone else, lets judge him on this season.

Carrol had a better game then Ameobi, he just didn't score. Carrol will play every game. Ameobi will come in when they play 4-4-2. I expect Ameobi to start at the bench against Arsenal.

I'm in a quandry. My squad of 15 includes Nani/VDV/Fab/Albrighton, who are, to varying degrees, doubts to play. Elmo and Coleman will in all probability play, but you wouldn't put your life on it.

I've also got Konchesky/Enrique/Carroll who I'd rather not play given their fixtures this week.

But losing several of those players would cost me a lot of money if I wanted to get them back in (as Nani/VDV don't look to be out for long).

So what to do? Offload the Konch for Vidic? Lose 0.3 on Carroll when he's got blackburn and fulham at home in the next 10 days-in order to bring Hernandez?

Ride it out. Only Nani and VdV likely to be missing, you are a lot healthier than some! Cant see the point in using a transfer to remove someone who will definately play. Two transfers will be very helpful next week.

I'm honestly not planning any transfers at the moment, my side will be something like
                    ..........Gilks
                    Elmo.....Jagielka....Tamas
                    Nani...Fabregas (c)..Adam...Nasri

                    Subs: Al-Habsi, VdV, Bosingwa, Simpson

Which ok isn't great but isn't overly bad either. So I reckon I'll bank the transfers

                    Malouda Fabs(c) nZog

Yeah i did. What is to 'lol' about?!

The Afghans fought off the Soviet invasion and sent them back to Russia embarrassed. There aren't many people on the planet who have fought for their own freedom as much and as often as the Afghans.

I'm not slating the Afghans at all, just the US film industry propaganda. If the same film was made now, Sly would be blowing up Afghans with exploding arrows, not Russians. All a bit 1984

I HATE when people quit, even when they are down 2-0 early, it is so frustrating and you should automatically win the game, I only play people I know now really, cause it just wrecks my head!

        you do win the game!

anytime anyway quits or is disconnected (after 5 game minutes), you get a 3-0 win. otherwise nobody would play online as 50% of people are quitters.

if im losing, even badly, i never quit, cos i always want to rematch and take them down

Does anyone think jagielkas value might go up tonight? Hes only on 93% on totalfpl at the moment but i know sometimes if its been a rapid increase in transfers in the value goes up sooner than a more moderately paced rise. I havent been keeping an eye on the transfers so dont know how fast its been what do you reckon?

Joey Barton pass completion (last 3 games)
    V Sunderland = 72%
    V West Ham = 77%
    V Wigan = 82%

Paul Scholes pass completion (last 3 games)
    V Spurs = 92%
    V Stoke = 93%
    V WBA = 84%

    Steven Gerrards pass completion
    V Bolton = 72%
    V Blackburn = 67%
    V Everton = 84%

Now it should be noted that Scholes has been on the pitch a helluva lot less than the other two, in the third match he only completed 13 passes but still pretty epic. Beaten by:

    Tiote pass completion
    V Sunderland = 94%
    V West Ham = 95%
    V Wigan = 90%

    Gotta love nerdy stats.

'He’s not a typical English midfielder'

You make it sound like that is a bad thing! He's a deep lying playmaker with an excellent range of passing, more than adept defensively (he's comfortable at CB), strong, good in the air, and most importantly can dictate the tempo better than any English midfielder around, bar the Ginger Prince.

Nah I meant more of a Pirlo type didnt mean it in a bad way, I just think that we have fallen into a rut of the same players over and over, or at least play-a-likes. I think we have an Italian manager, we should try something a bit different as an experiment.

Might sign him though, as cheap back up for the mighty Mikel. Like I signed Mohammed Diamé (apparently he should have passed to some geezer at the weekend instead of being selfish, I vaguely remember hearing) on last year's game.

Looks like the chances of VDV starting are getting lower and lower. I wish they'd just be more conclusive about his injury so I know how many gameweeks he's gonna be out for

        Yeah, they just happened.

Jagielka going up is annoying..... And Cashley is now 8.3! Jeez. Wish I'd been on that one from the beginning..

Jags has gone up? Fandabidosie. Cashley is a pain though, thinking of him as a cert for my Jan WC team

Unfortunately every transfer i've done over the last 4 weeks has turned to mud so you should probably get rid asap now tbh.

As far as i thought from total FPL only possible risers were Jags and Cahill, not sure where the others came from?!

Its not an exact science, TM is normally pretty good but occasionally the odd suprise crops up, like why did Mikel suddenly go down?

Obviously people are rising below 100% & falling way before 100%. Mikel was predicted to fall possibly.

For the assists I never though Cole was worth the extra money. Now that he is a bonus magnet he is alot more tempting though.

arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh i was gonna do bosingwa (5.6) to jagielka with my 0.1 in the bank this week if ancelotti didn't name bos starting tomorrow. that is such a kick in the teeth, didnt expect him to go up at 93%. damn!

So need to replace Gohouri. Just need a starter so fixtures isn't really important. Got 0.3 in the bank so max price is 4.3

Since I already have Jara and Krul options seem to be:
        Foley
        Crainey
        Figueroa (Stam)

Leaning towards Figueroa. Seems like the guy is never injured. Stam will probably offer more attacking threat but he is not likely to always get 90 min right? Who would you guys recommend?
