The build-up to this weekend’s action has been like the annual Fantasy Football Hokey Cokey, and trying to pin down players to select as a result has evidently not been the easiest. Malouda is in, Malouda is out, Malouda is in again; rinse and repeat for the likes of Nani and Van Der Vaart and the head starts spinning.

Despite these murky waters, we’ve done our best to once again find six picks that we feel are set for a decent scoring week over in the Metro Fantasy Football sphere. Participants in that game can now take a look at our “Bankers” and “Punts” for the week ahead…

Choosing a “Banker” this week evidently became an easier affair than many other weeks, with options a tad sparser than normal, but there were still a few other players who can be deemed unfortunate to miss out.

On the back of his Europa League hat-trick, Steven Gerrard could well prove a decent selection, despite facing league leaders Chelsea, as he’ll hoover up bags of Opta based bonus points on top of any goal based returns that may head his way. If Carlos Tevez is confirmed fit and ready for the trip to West Brom, it goes without saying he always stands a chance of a bounty, but with nothing definite as of yet, we deemed it too risky to stick our necks out on that one. Samir Nasri once again misses out to his skipper; if and when Cesc gets injured again the Frenchman will undoubtedly get the chance to remove his bridesmaid’s dress. Then of course there’s Didier Drogba – always about, always a threat.

Punting on a player is always a fun part of Fantasy Football and Gameweek 11 really offers the chance for Managers to spread their risk-taking wings.

Alexander Hleb faces Robert Green this week hoping that he reverts to his England form after a star performance last week. In Saturday’s early kick-off Chung-Yong Lee will probably be tasked with doubling up on Gareth Bale, but if Spurs show any sign of Champions League fatigue, he could find a few holes in-between the Welshman and Assou-Ekotto. At the Cottage, Aston Villa may struggle without a first choice striker but if they do break the home defence, the creative spark will likely come from Ashley Young. In the same match, Fulham’s Mousa Dembele is also worth a look – he returned outstanding stats last weekend in the win over Wigan, despite Clint Dempsey stealing the plaudits with a brace.

Check out the six players that we thought were just that little bit better than those mentioned above here.

    Foster

    Elmo - Alcaraz - Cole - Jags

    Malouda - Arteta - Nasri

    Carrol - Drogs - Elmander

    Subs - Williamson, VDV, Nani

This looks set to be an awful week for my team, it really hinges on how well Chelsea do against Liverpool, Im not expecting much.

Best choice for captain I reckon will be Nasri.

For the first time Im feeling the pressure of having 3 players from the same team in my first eleven :/

ok with the news that both Nani and VDV are definately out, I'm going to have to take a 4 point hit otherwise I have to field Evatt for Blackpool and will have no other spare subs.

Team at the moment looks like this -

    Foster
    Elmo, Coleman, Cashley, Evatt
    Malouda, Adam, Brunt
    Chamakh, Drogba, Carroll

    benched Nani, Malouda, Baptiste

I can only afford to transfer Nani out as I will be able to bring him back easily.

So advice please on who to swap Nani for - Arteta, Nasri or possibly Park for Man Utd as I have a feeling he may get assists or score

    cheers

There is a massive bad weather front on the way down from Greenland, it will hit Ireland and Britain late saturday - it will be messy, pissing wet horror of a day. Arsenals little passing game will suffer than Newcastle's more direct style.
Oh and there will be yellow cards a plenty.

I'm going with this possible WC squad:

          Foster Al-Habsi
          Alex Mummy Dann Coleman Foley
Fabregas Arteta Nasri Adam (VDV -> dunno yet?)
          Drogba Hernandez Carroll

Leaves me 3m in bank to get 2 of Nani/VDV/Malouda or others, maybe all 3, back if I want to over next 2 weeks.

My midfield resembles the starting scene from saving private ryan, body parts lame and bloodied all over the field..

fabregas - now looking good to start and wear the armband

nani - stupid spineless portuguese hand pumper

VDV - harry shouldntve played him on tuesday against the fat spanish waiter

Malouda - Carlo please tell me that he will play

Davies - Gotta have one cheap / crap player

Anyway was thinking og gettind rid of Nani, would get 8.7m for him and could but him back at 8.8m as he price is going to drop and i cant see him getting any returns on wednesday againts the future champions.. what do you lot think??

          VDV.

Nani is also a doubt for the City (away) game, then it's Villa (away).

VDV is most likely back after the weekend, then has two easier home games (Sunderland and Blackburn)

Too much pressure picking your team. Had to bench Bale last week. Ended up winning you the tie. Two Spurs midfielders in the same team can't be good.

Anyone think Matt Jarvis is worth a punt after the Arsenal game?

Their fixtures do look very favorable.

Want to bring in a Wolves player from GW13 on, i'm thinking Jarvis. Any advice? Hunt, Doyle, Fletcher, Milijas, etc...

im a wolves fan and i reckon hunt, doyle, jarvis and milijas are worth looking at, in terms of penalties it is milijas or doyle, but we have had so few that no one person has had many to take! if i had to pick one of those i would go with Jarvis as he is on fire at the moment

      Team is:
      Foster (Krul)
      Salcido, Faye, elmo, coleman (jara)
Mal, Fab, Adam (vdv in inj, nani)
      Drogs, elmander, bent

Want to transfer Mal and Jara out, for A.Cole and midfielder for under 6.4, which one for next few GW's?
      Parker? Brunt? Nolan?

This is why I think you should keep VDV over Nani, assuming you have the same amount of profit locked in:

I think both will be available for GW12.

      VDV has:
      GW12 SUNDERLAND(H)
      GW13 BLACKBURN(H)
2 teams who I think he'll come back to and do very well against.

I also think Nani will be back but he has:
      GW12 Man City (A)
      GW13 Villa (A)

VDV played 45 minutes vs Inter and there didn't appear to be any major problem. I think another game's rest and he'll be back and ready for next week.

So I did Nani > Fabregas. Nani doesn't need to come back until GW14.

          Depends what your options are.

I brought Fabs in knowing I could do Nasri back to Nani. So guess it's down to what money you had spare.
