Three games today to polish off gameweek 11, and if today is anything like yesterday, then good riddance as far as I’m concerned. Having said that, the six teams on show today have considerable investment around these parts, so perhaps a healthier score is a possibility.
First up is Newcastle United’s trip down to the Emirates to face Arsenal. To the relief of many a fantasy manager, The Gunner’s captain fantastic Cesc Fabregas is named in the starting line-up. Theo Walcott also starts at the expense of the Russian maestro Andrei Arshavin, who has some very interesting company on the pine, as Robin van Persie is named amongst the substitutes.
A positive line-up for The Toon, sees Shola Ameobi and Andy Carroll remain up front together after their prolific partnership in last week’s derby.
Here are the line-ups in full, and I’ve included the substitutes as that is arguably where the headline news is…
Arsenal XI: Fabianski, Sagna, Koscielny, Squillaci, Clichy, Song, Wilshere, Fabregas, Walcott, Chamakh, Nasri
Subs: Szczesny, Rosicky, van Persie, Djourou, Arshavin, Eboue, Bendtner
Newcastle XI: Krul, Simpson, Coloccini, Williamson, Jose Enrique, Barton, Tiote, Nolan, Gutierrez, Carroll, Ameobi
Subs: Soderberg, Campbell, Routledge, Lovenkrands, Smith, Steven Taylor, Ranger
Straight after that we go to Anfield to see Liverpool take on champions Chelsea at 4pm. Also, in the midst of those two games, West Brom host Man City at 3pm.
All today’s goings on can and will be discussed in the aptly-named Dugout Discussion. Enjoy.
