Just 16 ties to look at as the Fantasy Football Scout Cup III, sponsored by Paddy Power, goes midweek for the first time. To see exactly what the draw has thrown out, click here. As you’ll seem, there are still plenty of big names left challenging for the title…

Last week’s top-scorer Gazzamania has a tough match-up against DRP, who sits just 5 points behind him overall.

Soup or Man will be looking to continue his good form (five straight green arrows), when he takes on 100k+ ranked Back to Back Ballacks.

Another recognisable name in the fifth round is Anorak, who has his work cut out against a highly-ranked opponent olive.

After eliminating Granville, Chris81 will once again have to beat the odds to overcome top 8k ranked DaFoe22. Another Scout killer, tippman, is still in the mix and takes on Unwillingplayer.

Site favourite bill badger is a huge underdog this week, as he has been handed a tie with round three top-scorer and 12th in the world, Ann_der_roo.

Ann_der_roo is clearly the highest-ranked participant in round five, but the unfortunate title of lowest-ranked goes to Manif, who is the true underdog of the competition. Sitting at a season-best 328,067th in the world, he’ll have to continue to upset the apple cart to see off atx1303, who is ranked a good 100k+ places above him.

All fixtures are to be played over gameweek 12 (starting tonight). Good luck to all 32 fantasy managers left in the competition, and remember that a free £25 bet, courtesy of Paddy Power, is available as always to the top-scorer this round.

Akers Richard or Akers, as he is known, has been regularly haunting this site since July 2008. He is young and foolish, take what he says with a pinch of salt. Follow them on Twitter

Which two out of five should I play?

Adam, Mummy, Dann, Faye, Dembele. (Must be at least 1 defender)

    Thanks

Who would you guys captain out of Malouda, Arteta or Bale?

I'm defo going for a midfielder, have Fabregas but not considering him because of poor form.

In risky mode I think Arteta - he's overdue a good return. In risk averse mode though I think Malouda - played well against 'pool; I'm worried he won't play 70 mins though.

    Any thoughts?

I'd considered the same transfer but I won't do it. Bolton are playing well atm and I can see them score and there is no CS against Arsenal on the cards. But surely he offers attacking potential.

hey guys should i transfer out oshea or shawX for alex? i know shawx is on a 1 match ban but will it be worth it to keep him since he has good fixtures? oshea is also being rotated so it is kind of a risk having him in my team

oshea could be a good shout given the injuries at ot. i'd prbably keep him because of this. he could play in midfield.

shwacross to alex depends upon your team. would you rather beef your defence up over elsewhere? if so, do it.

Thank you, Hugh. Glad that's been cleared up. But he's replacing someone called Carlos so he's going to need to have more going for him than that - and playing in tottenham's defence isn't a great start.

Oh... Corluka is fit... hm. His name is Alan, he plays for Spurs, and there's a rotation risk from a pretty handy Croat... less and less appealing by the tick-tock. Also he looks like an albino pug. Hello drawing board, I have returned to thee.

      It's a double-gameweek...

      We, errrrm, missed it too.

Teddy pointed it out at about 11:45 on Saturday so I quickly sold Torres for Drogba for a -25 hit to make sure I had him for the Fulham game - that went well. And yes I'm still blaming you teddy, not for the move... but ignorance would have been bliss it seems.

Just having a look at who are the in-players for transfers today. Quite an unusual bunch when I think about it which makes me wonder what a strange bunch were FPLers are. Here's what I think of the top 10 transfers

Carroll – Two relatively easy games but the next 6 could be trouble
    Nolan – See Carroll
Torres – Classic knee-jerk based on one game and hoping on that thing called form. Check the recent fixtures to see how often Liverpool score at Wigan or Stoke
Tevez – Ok this makes sense. After United, City have a nice easy run of fixtures and I’m guessing people are also banking on him having a blinder tomorrow. Odds are probably against it but there’s half a chance
Cahill – Are Everton’s fixtures really that good. With Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City putting in an appearance against the Toffees, I can’t see Cahill as being anything more than a short-term "hit and hope".
Ridgewell – Looks a lot like chasing points here. Have these people looked at the fixture list? Personally, I think he is worth the 5.4m asking price but not sure now is a good time for him to be brought in.
Coleman – Same as Cahill although the one thing going for Coleman is that he is both underpriced and playing out of position. Discount the fact that he is not a nailed on starter and that’s one thing (two positives and one negative)
Bale – Either as a short term bet/cover for VDV or a long term season keeper. Fixture list goes bad by GW14. The one plus is that they have 4 home games in 6 and I guess the hope is that Bale continues his recent form in those Derby matches
    Nasri – Fixtures bad
Anelka – Please someone explain to me the logic of bringing Anelka in. There are too many other Chelsea options to allow Anelka to take one of the three available slots. Come to think of it, he’s taking up a striker position when there are better (and cheaper options). Even Chamakh has scored more.

Add to Nasri - rotation risk; he had a knock on Sunday and now has competition from Walcott, Rosicky and Bendtner, all of whom will curtail his minutes. Having said that - he is in very good form so if he plays he will cause problems.

Cancelling Xbox live subscription is such a frakking hassle.

Used to be an option on the account login on the website but now you have to ring up. After a few options I got through to someone and said I wanted to cancel and he was like ok I'll just put you through to a specialist (a specialist to press cancel?!).

Of course that specialist was trying to convince me to stay. In the end I just interrupted him and said look I've got 3 months with Black ops I just want it cancelled I ain't gonna buy anything from you.

    He obliged thankfully,

Well - FFS cup. It was nice to make your acquaintance.....

Only kidding - i'm well up for this tie.
2 freebies spent, team rejuvenated, i'm feeling goooood.
Clean sheets for United, Newcastle and a bunch of goals for Spurs and this tie will be all over bar the shouting.

    You're going down olive!
