After the frenzy of last week, I’d like to take the opportunity on this relatively sleepy Monday night, to announce and introduce you to a couple of new Fantasy Football Scout team members.

Firstly, the keen eyed amongst you will have noticed a certain Elfozzie making the odd comment post over the past few months. This shady character has been in the background after coming on board in the Summer, during which time he helped me out with some of his hard-earned, and basically supported me to create and launch the Members area. Elfozzie is the Scout’s Business guy – responsible for helping me to turn this site into something other than a pleasurable time sink that gets me into trouble with my girlfriend and destroys my social life. Elfozzie will be to blame if I’m still here doing this in a couple of years.

Johnfinlay meanwhile, has joined the team as our day-to-day news reporter and all-round editorial machine to provide coverage during the daylight hours, when the rest of us should be doing our 9 to 5 jobs. John will be chipping in with tweets, articles, team news, helping out with moderation on the comments and generally pushing the site on to be more prolific than ever. Almost half my age and full of these things I can vaguely remember called ā€œenergy and enthusiasmā€, John is the Jack Wilshere to my Liam Brady. Liam Brady’s not dead yet is he?

You read more on both these characters in the freshly updated Meet The Team page right here.

Welcome aboard Elfozzie and Johnfinlay!

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Need to get rid of Mummy + O'Shea but only have one transfer. Who do you reckon will drop first? I guess I can just wait and keep an eye on things, but they will probably both drop this GW - both sitting around 50-60% on totalfpl at the moment.

    More importantly, what 2 defenders for 11.5? (or preferably 11.0 to allow a potential Tevez > Rooney move)

    Kolarov + ???

        I'm going to wait and see if he's starting this weekend. If he doesn't, it will be a simple downgrade to Bramble/Bardsley. Going to Spurs and Chelsea are two of the toughest away game in the league and I think Bruce simply opted for experience to avoid another painful thrashing he experienced in the derby. The problem is, the players he has brought in have over exceeded expectations and got four points when on paper they should have got zero.

        I think Nani is essential and need to raise funds. Another option is

        Nani and Bardsley in Enrique and VDV out.

      Get some Man City Coverage in defence. Kolorov seem a secent purchase. Possibly for Zirkov. I would not double up on Chelsea 'if' Terry is out for a while.

        Thanks Jim, you reckon do that before the attacking transfer mentioned? Or both for a -4? Annoyed with myself for knee jerking the other day and chasing points by bringing Zhirkov in last minute, its upset the balance and a waste of a free transfer. One day I'll learn!!

          Tough one would not take a 4 point hit. I fancy West ham not to score at Anfield so I would get a Bolton forward in first. Birmingham vs Chelsea has 0-0 written all over it so keep Zirkov for one more week. Just my opinion of course.

          Which Bolton forward would you go for?

            You know how it works Jim, whichever I go for the other will score. Take a look at my transfer last week for proof of that! Seriously I think Davies, he seems to get BP's regardless of goals scored and key assists with his head!

                Nani does look essential for this week, I'm gonna captain him though so bear that in mind! Jim, Tevez is the one guy I would like for the season that I just cant seem to get. Don't lose him unless he really falls out of form. He has only had poor returns in one game.

    Can anyone see any pressing transfers needed. I might save this week and re-assess. Unless their are any injuries in friendlies.
    My team is;
    Foster, Krul;
    Mummy, Coleman, Simpson, Alcaraz, Foley;
    Nani, Fab, Malouda, VDV, Albrighton;
    Drog, Tev, Carroll.

      Really similar team to me apart from Malouda (I have Adam) Alcaraz (I have Zhirkov) and Foley (I have Hutton).

      I don't think Mummy will play and Simpson, Coleman, Alcaraz and Foley all look like conceding this week. I'm planning on going:

      Mummy - Bardsley this week
      Zhirkov - Bosingwa next week
      Hutton - Kolarov week after.

      I need some Man City defence. Let me know if you have similar in mind!

    I, like many others I suspect, am on the verge of ditching Malouda (for VdV in my case). 3 things have been troubling me about this though:
    1) Having held onto to him during his ‘barren spell’ it seems perverse to ditch him now. In hindsight i should have got rid 4 weeks ago, but i didn’t. Chelsea haven’t turned into relegation fodder overnight and Malouda seems to be involved with nearly all Chelsea’s goals. How gutting would it be if you missed about on a 14 pointer as Chels beat someone 4-0 – esp as it would average out his points over last few weeks (a la Bale!)
    2) His obvious replacements haven’t got great fixtures. VdV for instance starts away to Arsenal before Liverpool and Chels in the next four.
    3) Despite his high ownership elsewhere, Malouda is a slight differential for me vs. my rivals –wheareas EVERYONE has VdV!
    Thoughts of any/all of the above much appreciated.

      1.Malouda does not have good fixtures coming up, 2.vdv can score against anyone cause he is quality, 3. malouda has an ongoing ankle injury, 4.You will save 2 million or so.

        Last time everyone ditched Malouda he got 8 points against Wolves. I'd wait two or 3 more weeks on Malouda if I was you esp with VDV's tough fixtures. Although I already have VDV so I don't have that same temptation so easy for me to say.

    Cant get my head around as to the priority order in which the following should be transferred out. Current order:
    1. Arteta
    2. Malouda
    3. Elmo
    4. Bosingwa (May end up keeping if he cements his place)
    5. Nasri (Got Fabs so doubling up doesnt seem a good option)

    About right?

      3. Bosingwa

      The others are season keepers IMO

    Terry potentially being out for months is a real double edged sword. On the one hand, it could greatly reduce their number of cleanie's and make Chelsea defenders not worth the money. On the other hand, if they can manage without him it means Boswinga and Alex are more certain to start and offer good value if so.
