      It's kind of forlorn to pick out individual points as a reason to lose a h2h. A bonus point, a yellow card, a dodgy refs decision all contribute, it's just well annoying when its just 1 point. I won my h2h by 1 point, but that after losing my first 2 games this year both by a point.

      OK lets stop it, Arteta had a very very good second half. Cahill barely touched the ball, fair enough he almost scored a second goal, but almost is not enough

      The three worst performing players in each match will receive additional bonus points. Three points will be awarded to the best player, two to the second best and a single point to the third.

      Player performance is assessed by Press Association analysts, all of whom are ex-professional footballers, who attend each match. This assessment takes into account the quality of a player's overall performance and their contribution to the match result.

      Bonus points are awarded within 1 hour of the last match of the day finishing.

      Arteta actually played well in the second half, but the truth is he got 2BPs because he always gets them. That is why he is a good FPL player, and is a better pick long term than Cahill (who only ever gets them when he scores a brace)

        The study of bonus points reveals that the biggest contribution to receiving points are

        A) goals,
        B) followed by assists,
        C) followed by touches of the ball.

        Arteta simply wins C) every time as does Fabregas as does Barry Ferguson. Combine C) with A) or B) and it's likely that bonus points will come his way.

          well put, let's build a bridge and get over the BP's, they are flawed, often glorious when on the receiving end of possible undeserved BP's, often miserable when your rival is the benefactor of same! BP's are there, we have to live with them!

              They've changed them before, maybe an explanation. There needs to be clear criteria as to why they award someone BP's. If the opta stats show more involvement from Cahill does that mean they were wrong?

          Are all you Arteta owners actually embarrassed? Arteta was the worst player on the pitch, barring Coleman. He consistently gave the ball away, notably which led to sunderland's second goal. And scored a ridiculous defelcted 'goal.
          Cahill had 5> shots on target, a goal, and two cleared off the line, and he gets 0.
          FPL seriously are beyond belief

                your point makes no sense whatsoever AP, you purchased a player playing in DM all season, who has scored 1(2?) goals, and very few assists, purely based on the fact that he will get bonus points when he is not due them? surely that is something to be embarrassed about?

                the fpl bonus system is embarrassing and has no consistent logic.

          i believed in arteta since gw1, reaped some bps and a goal sold him when he plummeted to 8.2 from 8.5 to get nasri for two weeks, brought him back, 2 pts. machine, then benched him out of all the time i've had him this one week, and bang. to quote the great SAF, "football, bloody hell."

          Righto, I'm off. Early start tomorrow and going away til Sat night. My transfer was Park > N'Zog, straightforward enough, and my team for next weekend is thus:

          Robinson (Carson)
          Kolarov/Coleman/Konchesky (Jara, Simpson)
          Adam/VDV/Nani/Fabs/N'Zog
          Drogba/Tevez (Odemwingie)

          I don't like playing the combo's of Robinson/Nani and VDV/Konch but I spose it's not going to be great whichever combo I choose.

          Any thoughts on changes?

          67 on Saturday with Jagielka/Boateng/Albrighton to go! happy days! I was thinking 75-85 very possible.

          1/0/0 with Piquionne 2 and Simpson 0 coming in. Alot to be said for having a good day on the final day of the gameweek, whenever I do well very early it's always downhill after that!

                  Ah, but which one? VDV is probably more consistent and has a great record at home but despite his fpl score at the weekend i thought be was lacking somewhat. Did someone say he was carrying a knock?

          I thought it was pretty well established that Arteta didn't have to do much to get BPs, why are people still shocked by this?
