The penultimate results article for the third instalment of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power, brings you news of who has made the grand final and how they did it. Of the two fixtures, one was closely-contested and one certainly was not…

Semi-Final One

tippman 78 – 48 DRP

Easing through to the final this week by a handsome 30 points was tippman. Even without Dimitar Berbatov he would have done the business, thanks to a ballsy decision to captain Frederic Piquionne. A fantastic score (despite a minus two point return from Sylvain Distin), earns Mark’s-conqueror a free £25 bet courtesy of Paddy Power, as well as a guaranteed £100 bet for turning up to next week’s final. That win for tippman shoots him up in the overall rankings to a season-high 4,759th. A welcome green arrow after five successive red.

Semi-Final Two

The Von 55 – 57 gooner dave

The second semi-final was a much tighter affair, with a combination of injuries and suspensions costing The Von a berth in the Grand Final. With a bench scoring a total of zero points, and transfers out accruing the same, a four-point hit was necessary for The Von. Unfortunately for him though, he was in the market for a defender in a week where every team conceded. Unlucky. Going through then is gooner dave, who will have to have the title of favourite as he is ranked 2,516th in the league.

So there’s two top-5k ranked fantasy managers in the Final, and that surely illustrates the calibre of performances required do well in this tournament, and whoever lifts the imaginary trophy next week will have truly earned it. So well done and good luck to both tippman and gooner dave. I’ll bring you a preview of the final tomorrow, as well a look at the 3rd place play-off.

They say the other senses get heightened when you lose one, and since he was blind from birth I reckon he'd be a speedy winger if he bothered to keep fit. Only thing is, he might run into things. Shame that.

No point captaining Tevez when Balotelli starts, as he plays more advanced and will get the goals, u may get assists for Tevez...
