Some of us have been snowed in, some of us have been knocked down by winter viruses for more days than they would wish and others are just waiting for Fernando Torres to shine a light on their season. I confess, all those three are me so enough of the pity party as we’ve got one final fixture to close out gameweek sixteen.

The news that Fernando Torres wife has gone into labour (oh god, not that old chestnut again!) will cause many, myself included, to kick up a storm as Ryan Babel comes in to replace the Spanish maestro this evening. Some end to the gameweek. Teams in full are…

Liverpool XI: Reina; Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky; Kuyt, Meireles, Lucas, Maxi; Babel, Ngog

Villa XI: Friedel; L. Young,Dunne, Collins, Warnock; Albrighton, Clark, Hogg, Downing; Ireland; Agbonlahor

As always the Dugout Discussion is open late night today as we see what Houllier can do on his first return to Anfield.

Torres's wife being heavily pregnant is the kind of detail I rely on someone on here knowing.

His home form is decent. Have a look back at the stats if you need some persuading.

Liverpool are sh1te away from home, no-one can deny that. This game is at Anfield.

                        nobody rates home/away form

form is how a player plays each and every game how hard he works for the team and how he puts away chances

and some of his assists have been debatable anyway like the one for kuyt a few weeks ago

You do know this is a fantasy football site, right? We all measure home form.

And if you're going to argue you're talking about "real life" form, why are you talking about debatable assists?

seriously if liverpool switch to 4-4-2 permanently it's between babel and n'gog for the other striker spot. hodgson said earlier in the season he intended to try and give babel a chance to prove himself up front. 6.7 mid with liverpool's fixtures. if it happens i'm all over that

he's got the horn tonight, the crowd is on his side (for once!) and hodgson can't help but be impressed. despite n'gog's goal i think it's been all about babel up front so far. the only spanner in the works is it's hard for hodgson to drop out meireles or lucas form the centre when gerrard returns in order to carry on playing 4-4-2

I find Monday night games generally always disappoint me anyway, have no one playing tonight, but whenever I have a big Saturday, and have a player playing on Monday, I always think "sweet, and still X to play on Monday night, I could get 6-10 more!" always ends up as 1 or -1 or something for me, I almost see having a big big Saturday as a bad omen the rest of the weekend will be pants. Nearly came through yesterday with Simpson/Piquionne, only for Bardsley to throw me a bone!

I asked my 2 year old son who would win Newcastle or West Brom (he said West Brom). So then I thought he was just repeating the team I was saying last so I asked Sunderland or West Ham (he said Sunderland). £60 richer I asked him Liverpool or Aston Villa, he went with Liverpool. Eager to see how long his streak lasts!

+1 just because his wife is having a baby he can't play football for a couple of hours. Torres should be sold and get in some players that will play through hell and back for a game with Liverpool. Sell Torres in January he obviously has no passion for the game. He is so miserable anyway his wife probably said go play football and it was just too cold for him nothing to do with babies.

Apologies for the long cut and paste...

No sooner was Chris Hughton shown the door than punters were scrambling to bet on his replacement, with Alan Pardew the man receiving all the attention.

Victor Chandler are currently offering the best odds for the recently dismissed Southampton manager at 2.75. A flood of money has also seen his odds trimmed with Bet 365 to 2.25 and Ladbrokes to 1.80.

Martin O'Neill could prove tempting with Victor Chandler the best on offer at 5.00.

Another out of work manager Alan Curbishley is the bookmakers third choice early on at 11.00 with Victor Chandler, yet only 4.00 with Ladbrokes. Lee Clark and Peter Beardsley are available at 26.00 generally.

If you fancy Alan Shearer to have another crack at the job you can 26.00 with Bet 365, while Steve Bruce is 41.00 with both Bet 365 and Paddy Power.

A host of ex-England mangers are quoted with Steve McClaren trading at a best price of 41.00 with Paddy Power, Kevin Keegan 51.00 generally, Terry Venables 41.00 with Paddy Power and Glen Hoddle 51.00 with Bet 365.

Some other names nibbled at in the market today are Martin Jol, 41.00 into 17.00 with Paddy Power and West Bromwich Albion manager Roberto Di Matteo, 29.00 into 21.00 with Stan James.

            Oh dear oh dear.

It's like a big pond where poor managers swim around in the hope that some deluded club owner will come around to snap them up.

Just look at that list, there is a bloody reason why most of them have no job.
