Crack open your 2011 calendars early ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got the first double gameweek of the season plotted and in play.

Blackpool have announced today that their home fixture with Manchester United has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday 25th January, placing the fixture firmly on the end of gameweek 24

Blackpool will now see themselves face four home fixtures (BIR, wba, SUN, MUN WHM) in the space of four gameweeks which will undoubtedly attract renewed investment in the cheap wares the Tangerines offer, Charlie Adam to Luke Varney likely to be the key beneficiaries.

Manchester United travel to Bloomfield Road inbetween home fixtures against two of Birmingham’s teams (STK, tot, BIR, bpl, AVL) which will no doubt attract plenty of fantasy investors looking to pile on a title challenging side facing two games in a week – we all fondly remember Wayne Rooney’s recording breaking score of 32 at home to Hull and Portsmouth last year, he and the likes of Nani will be sure the see plenty of buys.

Be on the look out for a “Scouting the Doubles” article from the team closer to the time as well as be sure to keep an eye on the state of affairs in Blackpool. Given that Bloomfield road is the only stadium without undersoil heating in the Premier League it’s not beyond the realm of possibility we will see more postponements, and maybe even the same fixture getting delayed again.

For now however, we can revel in our first double of the season.

    Oh intriguing possible transfer for United, seeing mucho twatter talk about Alexis Sanchez - if he is half as good as he is on footy manager or FIFA 11 he is a cracker. Main source Goal.com though so can't get too excited.
    I do love all the transfer hype ramping up though. None positive from Newcastle though 🙁

      Hmm 800 step overs too many most likely, plus i'm pretty sure he's a right winger. Already got 2 of those! cough*bale*cough

        Ronaldo did 1000 step overs too many before joining, that can easily be fixed.

      I heard this a good while ago, and can see it. Heard a good while back that a deal had been agreed according to his agent.

      Might be dumb logic, but, I'll throw it out there, Fergie likes to buy these type of players from lesser footballing nations, look at Valencia, Park and Hernandez.

          Oh and as for the logic - it could be that they are cheaper than their Italian, German or Dutch counterparts. Wenger is pretty quick at snapping up any tadpoles

    Feel free to add 2 together for a 4 point hit:

    A: Piq > Torres
    B: Malouda > Cahill (and captain Cahill)

    Any advice please? My team for this week:

    Foster
    Konchesky Coleman Vidic
    N'Zog Nasri Nani Cahill
    Rooney Elmander

    Subs: Cleverley Simpson Tevez Kolorov

    I need to play one of my subs so it is either Cleverley (already have N'Zog playing!) or Simpson. The other option is take a 4 point hit and bring someone in, was thinking Lampard if fit or should I just play Cleverley?

    SuperDunny!!

    Glad someone else recognises that Chris absolutely fluked that tourist pitch, he just completely overlooked that they would take commission on earnings they didn't contribute towards. His praise for that annoys me almost as much as the praise Stella and Liz get (seemingly nearly every week) for working out how many sausages they can make from a certain weight of meat .. that's GCSE maths surely.

    Right, back to the RMTs

    My team is
    Schwarzer
    Konchesky Dann Coleman
    Nani(c) Malouda Nasri Adam Lee
    Drogba Carroll
    Subs: Carson Jones Kolarov Tevez

    A) Do nothing
    B) Lee --> Etherington
    C) Lee --> Pedersen
    D) Schwarzer --> Another keeper??

      I assume Jones is in kenwyne of Stoke? I mean if you're not going to start him against Blackpool at home why is he on your team? I would play him for Adam or Lee, or possibly even Drogba.

    Hi Guys

    What are peoples thoughts on Berbs or Rooney. Rooney seems to be very unselfish and in last few games has been playing very deep, with Berbs being the man uptop and thus more likely to pick up returns?

    Do you think that Berbs is a better option than Rooney?
