Crack open your 2011 calendars early ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got the first double gameweek of the season plotted and in play.

Blackpool have announced today that their home fixture with Manchester United has been rescheduled to take place on Tuesday 25th January, placing the fixture firmly on the end of gameweek 24

Blackpool will now see themselves face four home fixtures (BIR, wba, SUN, MUN WHM) in the space of four gameweeks which will undoubtedly attract renewed investment in the cheap wares the Tangerines offer, Charlie Adam to Luke Varney likely to be the key beneficiaries.

Manchester United travel to Bloomfield Road inbetween home fixtures against two of Birmingham’s teams (STK, tot, BIR, bpl, AVL) which will no doubt attract plenty of fantasy investors looking to pile on a title challenging side facing two games in a week – we all fondly remember Wayne Rooney’s recording breaking score of 32 at home to Hull and Portsmouth last year, he and the likes of Nani will be sure the see plenty of buys.

Be on the look out for a “Scouting the Doubles” article from the team closer to the time as well as be sure to keep an eye on the state of affairs in Blackpool. Given that Bloomfield road is the only stadium without undersoil heating in the Premier League it’s not beyond the realm of possibility we will see more postponements, and maybe even the same fixture getting delayed again.

For now however, we can revel in our first double of the season.

Evening all. I'm not really sure what to do with my team this week, if anything for that matter. Would appreciate some advice. My team is

    Hart

    Samba/Konchesky/Distin/(Acole/Kolarov)

    Nani/Pedersen/Lee/Nzogbia/Malouda

    Elmander/Carrol (Tevez)

I have 2.0 in the till and one freebie. Any tips?

      Malouda out, Cahill in. Simples.

I'd also consider A.hole Cole out for Baines but you already have Distin and I would never advocate a 4 point hit where avoidable.

Does Arshavin > Cahill seem a good transfer? Would be my only freebie this week but would mean I most probably won't have Arsenal cover next week as I'd like to do Toure > Samba and Drogba > Torres.

Arshavin does not like playing in the winter. His recent displays have been lacklustre. Nasri is currently your best best for Arsenal coverage , although Fab or RVP could be great value if they get going.

Cahill certainly is more attractive (as a transfer) now that he won't he leaving early to prepare for the asia cup.

      hm..

I personally dont rate Arshavin as an FPL player.

So it does look like a good move yeah..

Drogba -> Torres looks a good move (ill probably do it too) as not even gona lose value on the Drog now

Been thinking a lot about Baines, but is 7.1m too much for a defender with very few CS's and almost never get's BP's? Relying on assists.
I'm undecided between him, a SUN def, or even Jags.
      U going for Baines then?

Do I think Everton will keep a cleanie at home to Wigan?

A phrase involving a bear, excrement and woods comes to mind. In all seriousness though I do fancy them. I ain't got Everton cover and I want it.

Marvellus the question I put to you... is 8.4m too much for a defender with very few CS's and almost never gets BP's? In current form and fixtures that's what Cashley represents for me.

I definately agree with getting rid of ACole, but not sold on Baines yet, though that may change (great score btw).

What about Jagielka instead? He gets a lot of BPs, even when they concede it seems, and a lot cheaper, £££ to spend elsewhere.
And do you think a SUN defender (Bardsley/Onouha) is the way to go as I don't have one?

Thanks for the comment on my score.

I see your point on Baines. If it wasn't for the price it would be a no brainer for me. Jagielka is an interesting option and something of a differential but in this topsy turvy season I don't know if I can stomach a 5.8 defender with zero chance of assists or goals. I'm surprised by the BPs he has attracted especially in comparison to Baines (the game Vs Chelsea being a case in point). However without the cleanie he's a bit of a meanie so I'm not sold unfortunately. That said, it looks a sound move so don't let me deter you.

In fairness I think I'm leaning towards saving my freebie for next week...

Judging by your team, you don't need much help!

Some of the top results from http://www.FantasyAdvice.co.uk (for your team)
      Bardsley out for Baines
      Bent out for Rooney
      Save a Transfer.
      Bardsley out for Glen Johnson

You only paid 7.5m for Ashley Cole, he still poses a goal/assist threat and Chelsea can't stay this bad (can they ?). I'd consider keeping him.

Bardsley and Bent's subsequent fixtures are too lucrative for me to consider shipping them.

Saving a transfer looks likely... but there is the chance I might knee-jerk A.Cole out of my team.

    Hi all.

Need some help in these 3 questions

1- Is insane to bench Drogba from these 8 players: Nani, Nasri, Cahill, MGP, Bale, Elmander, Carroll, Drogba?

2- Is an error to "waste" the free transfer of this week in bringing in Begovic for Gilks, and put Begovic ahead of Reina because Begovic is (?) better option in terms of CS this GW?

3- Put Cahill as captain is me being stupid or makes sense?

    Tks.

    Cheers.

i just think if Brunt is out AND on the verge of a suspension he should go

I'm not a fan of Torres until he starts to hit form, which hasn't happened yet...and away from home?

Tevez is a keeper IMO...I'd do Drogba to Torres before ditching Tevez...or Carroll to Wellbeck

    Fabianski (Carson)
    Dann Coleman Konchesky (Jara, Kolarov)
    Malouda Nani(c) Nasri MGP (Brunt)
    Drogba Elmander Carroll

Am I crazy to spend 4 points this week to take out Fabianski and Konchesky for Robinson and Kyrgiakos? It's a kind investment - I've no doubt Kyrgiakos will get me back the points over Konchesky over the next couple of months, and I need some Blackburn cover.

Stupid move imo. Agger could be back next week in which case Kyrgiakos could likely lose his place.
You've got Carson away to Villa who should'nt do too badly, Robinson is playing away so doubt he'd recoup the 4 points.

I think Liverpool cover for the coming month should be obtained although it's not essential for this particular GW and definitely not worth a 4 point hit.

Doubling up on Everton could be dodgy though.

If you read the tweet from the albion website it sounds fine regarding Brunty...

Chris Brunt is also still carrying a groin problem, which is restricting his training schedule.

But the Northern Ireland international is likely to be available for the Villa Park trip.

"Chris Brunt had to miss some training sessions so we just have to manage him and hope he will be available for Saturday."

It's really Drogba => Torres or nothing this week...

at the moment you only need one of malouda and drogba imo. For me drog edges it on the basis of him being a better captaincy option.

however....i am looking at doing drogs > torres on the basis of his current low ownership, pool's upcoming fixtures and chelsea's tough run of games.

i feel the same about drogs but its just detrimental to keep a player who is out of form and in a team out of form just because he "might" start scoring.

drogs has not scored more than 6 points since the 19 sept - and has not picked up a bonus since the end of october yet he is still owned by more than a 1/3 of the games players. Over the next 3 GW's he wont be top captaincy choice (maybe VS arsenal) and his fixtures dont offer much opportunity of improvement.
