With his five goal haul grabbing the headlines in Gamweek 15, Dimitar Berbatov had himself something of a bandwagon before the big freeze put paid to Man United’s game at Blackpool last Saturday. The Bulgarian sits atop the Premier League scoring charts with eleven goals to his name so far, despite failing to find the net since gameweek 5, which was, coincidentally, the last time Wayne Rooney played 90 league minutes for Sir Alex Ferguson‘s side.

So much of the focus was on Rooney’s return to the starting XI against Blackburn that Berbatov was perhaps under less pressure for the first time in two months and resultantly stepped up to the occasion in emphatic style. Bearing in mind, then, the Bulgarian hadn’t scored in his previous seven matches, is there a correlation between the presence of Rooney and how Berbatov performs?

Clearly, as far as FPL returns go, there is a dramatic effect. This latest Numbers Game article for Members delves even further though, and examines the OPTA data for both players in attempt to assess just how reliant Berbatov has become on Rooney’s presence on the pitch.

FloMo to Cahill this week, yay or nay?

Was going to keep the Frenchman to take advantage of Chelsea's fixtures GW20 onwards but patience has disappeared.

Thing is, can Cahill keep up this hot streak?

I do have one transfer option for this GW, what will be the best thing to do?

    1) jaask/Carson - Change one of the GK

    2) get rid of Cashley

    3) Sell Tevez

      2,3,1 in that order.

Depends on the replacements. Keeper change can be done over 2nd wildcard but with those 2, it's probably better to do it earlier.

    foster (krul)
    coleman, jones, cashley, konchesky (enrique)
    jarvis, nasri, bale, MGP, (park)
    drogba, carroll (tevez)

Considering park -> silva and drogba -> torres and going 4-5-1. My thinking is that Silva is due and may step out of Tevez's shadow this week against west ham, drogs is in pretty poor form while Torres has great fixtures coming starting against a 'Pardew inspired' Newcastle.. I also fancy a pool cleansheet so think Carroll drops to the bench..

    Any thoughts?
