Mark makes a Bale appeal and gets a Bale refusal and for now is still a custodian to the assist rules of the FPL. Oh, Bales!

Still though, he’s served his time well having pulled back my precious lead, thanks to his Liverpool defendants. It’s a fair Kop Guv.

Of course, as with any turn of fortune for Mark, witness a flip side as Granny’s miffed makes an unwelcome return for the prosecution.

Scout discussion in this week’s dock – The difference between an assist and an ‘assist’.

    My team:
    Hart
    A.Cole-Baines-Samba
    Nani-Bale-Nasri-Nzogbia
    Elmander-Drogba-Carroll

    Bench:Foster,Albrighton,Foley,Kolarov

    Things that I need opinion:
    1- Should I play Albrighton?
2- Who to bench if I play Albrighton?
    3- Who to captain?
4- Hart or Foster to play?
    5- Should I keep Albrighton?
6- Who to transfer in if I sell Albrighton?(MGP or Etherington?)

Thanks a lot 🙂 Any other opinion is highly appreciate

1 + 2. Tough choice between N'Zog/Carroll/Albrighton for me, I thought Albrighton looked threatening against 'pool and Villa really need to win this one, their fixtures are getting shaky very soon.

I would play him instead of carroll if it was me, but tough, tough call really.

      3. Elmander, Nani and Bale stand out for your capt. choices:

Elmander on a combination of his form and Blackburn's poor away record

Nani generally has a decent game against Arsenal and has corners and majority of set pieces

Bale does weel against the big teams, scored against chelsea last year in this fixture, paulo ferreria is playing because bosingwa is injured and is pants as well, coupled with chelsea's recent poor form!

      4. Hart, by a country mile, if I had Hart i'd probably play him every week!

      5. I'd sell Albrighton, loads of options out there with better fixtures, you could always rotate a cheap midfielder every week if your satisfied with the rest of your team, mgp/brunt/ethrington/andy johnson if he's going to play/adam/cleverley/lee/jarvis/nolan/parker...so many cheap options to chop n change for good home fixtures there.

      6. Ethers is more consistant than MGP, but MGP was fantasy gold 2006-2007 so he's got it in him somewhere and his fixures are very favourable...out of the two, MGP wins. Brunt for the long term, that boy is class 🙂

Just worked out how many points hits i've cost myself this season, (58) including this gameweek. How many has everyone else cost themselves?

That works out on average 3.142 per gw...

My team value is 107.9...will it be worth it for the latter part of the season?

Considering not making a transfer this week, taken a few 4 pointers recently, trying to recover from a WC disaster in mid October. There are acouple of transfer possibilities, Krul to Robinson is one with Harper seemingly on the way back, and the Drogba question is always there. But the thought of 2 freebies next week, with possbile returns of VDV, Fabregas, Fat Frank & Stevie G is very tempting

Anyone see any reason to talk me into doing a transfer?

I did it myself a couple of weeks ago. I went Onouhua, so as to keep with Sunderland decent home form. Huth possibly more chance of a goal threat, he has 3 this season to Onouhua's 1. Huth been involved in only 3 clean sheets, Onouhua has 7

'It would have been much too early for Steven to be considered for Newcastle but he is making very good progress,' said Hodgson.
'But it's just that Newcastle (has proven to be) an unrealistic target - but he's on schedule.'

He was injured on November 17. Liverpool said 3-4 weeks. Real wind-up, that.

The manager change might do the complete opposite.

Players are fighting for their place in the team with a new manager. They'll want to impress him so that they can be guaranteed of a starting spot.

I'd still captain Torres, because I think Liverpool will still be too good, but don't get Enrique out for Samba.

The big problem is that there are no teams that look good for defensive returns this week except Everton.

I don't think it's worth getting Enrique out. Newcastle might concede, but Rovers are just as likely, if not more likely, to concede as well.

      No.

Agger was never one of Hodgson's favorites. Kyrgiakos has done well in the games he's played, and I think he'll keep his spot. In any case, Agger's been out for a while, so to break up a decent CB partnership for someone just coming back from injury makes little sense to me.

My dilemma this week is I can either play Morrison (WBA away to AV) or do Tamas->Kyrg for a free.. I'm leaning towards making the transfer rather than play Morrison.. Pool might not keep a cs away to toon though but I want a Pool defender for the next 5 weeks

I think it would be worth a 4pt hit to do 1 + 2 given that Bosingwa is injured and bench Jara. Then captain Cahill and it could turn out to be a memorable gameweek 🙂

i seriously need some help here.

    foster/krul
    foley/jacobson/konchesky/jara/kolarov
    nasri/fabs/nani/MGP/adam
    tevez/elmander/carrol

8.7 in bank and 1 freebie

normally i would place my options here but i have no idea what to do this time round. i really hate to see all that cash in the bank but not sure who to bring in.

That will leave you with an unusable bench - Kolarov, Fabs and Tevez.

True, not sure why he kept Fabregas, giving that he missed the last couple of games. Still might be worth doing that transfer though?

Jacobsen to Baines. You have enough to fund that and you can play 4-4-2.

If you are prepared to play those defenders you already have then get Cahill in for Fabs instead as your freebie transfer.

You have Nasri already and with Arsenal's next five games you don't really want to have 2 Arsenal mids. Cahill has better fixtures over that period too.

Those two moves together may well be worth a 4 pt hit this week too.

Odemwingie&Brunt doubts apparently, do you think that is true anyone?
    I don't know.

Also I read that Gerrard Houlier wants clean sheets, is that to be taken seriously or will Villa still be struggling?

Odem and Brunt were both declared doubts this time last week.

L.young said Villa had new defensive style before the game with Liverpool. 🙂

You were thinking of doubling up on Pool. I think it's a risk worth taking, Blackburn have good fixtures and you only need 1 cs for 8 extra pts, not 2. 😉

with the impending return of fabregas, VDV, gerrard et al next week i was looking at no transfers this week. There players could be gold dust over the hectic christmas and new year period.
Problem is i did not envisage injuries and suspensions to decimate my team. To press i have lost VDV, kolarov, tevez and boswinga and am unable to field 11 players this week. So should i consider a move for torres for tevez this week bringing back tevez for drogs next week and also a 4 point hit to release boswinga next week. I am also keen on cahill but hesitant to lose VDV AS i think he will back next week.
Team available to press to play this week is krul or carson, jags, krygiakos, givet, jarvis, nani, nasri, bale, drogs and elmander.
    Any input dear FFS readers?

no defenders take my fancy though with the exception of liverpool and everton and i already have ownership there and do not fancy doubling up. Quite a problem. Fancy torres but seems stupid to get rid for just one week when there is no doubt a new problem will arise before next week

Aaaargh. I really don't have a captain choice this week! Not that it matters as they only ever score 4 anyways hahah! Does anyone think it'd be worth doing tevez to torres which would be a 4 point hit, also giving me some1 to captain, then next week I could do either torres to tevez or elmander/bent to tevez. Alternativly I could get ballotelli to captain this week instead of torres. Hmmmmmm I dunno what to do?!?
