The Carlos Tevez saga took a new twist this evening with City boss Roberto Mancini uttering his first words on the matter since the situation developed on Sunday.

In a very positive statement, Mancini seems convinced that there is still hope of Tevez remaining at the club…

“If Carlos is unhappy, and he’s scored ten goals and played very well, then I hope that he’s unhappy like that all season! But I don’t think he is really unhappy. He can change his mind.”

Mancini goes on to express his desire to keep the striker at Eastlands – again with plenty of positivity…

“Do I want him to stay? Absolutely. He has a contract, and he is our player. It’s my belief that Carlos will stay with us, I think that he will continue to play for us.”

Mancini confirms that he will meet with Tevez on Friday and it appears that the Everton clash on Monday is very much on the agenda…

“I will see him Friday morning. I will say ‘good morning’, and then we will talk. It’s important that we speak, because we have a game with Everton on Monday and other very important games this month.”

There’s no doubt that this latest development comes as a huge positive for Fantasy Managers. Clearly Mancini is set to go all out to persuade Tevez to stay and, from this statement, it seems highly likely that Mancini will look to select the striker against Everton on Monday.

It will be interesting to see how Mancini approaches the issue of the club captaincy but again, tonight’s statement offers such a positive front, it seems possible that Tevez could even keep the City armband.
We can only await further developments; there’s likely to be plenty more to come.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I brought in Balotelli for Tevez in a one week punt, then all this went down. In light of these developments, worth considering sticking the ugly Argentine back in?

A tactical haddock is a haddock with a tactical mindset. If you see the picture of me on the right, its a photo of myself in the wembley dressing room giving a pre-match team talk during gameweek 8.

Tevez saga is annoying me* because I want him in my team. At least all the people who have him can keep him and let the possible points come in, then get rid if needs be.

In my case, If I got him in, I might need to get him out soon. Hope he doesn't bite me in the arse in the next few weeks.

*FPL wise. Love it if he left Citeh.

heres my team for the weekend, looks great

    Carson, krul

    cole, kyrg, samba

    brunt, nzog, nani, nasri

torres tevez, davies (Hunt vidic coleman)

Now, im seriously thinking of getting reina with my free this weekend, cos nothing else screams out. Ie, double up on liverpool defence for their 4 good homers.

Ild love johnson aswell/instead to be honest, but getting him in would just give me a selection headache.

Anyone else lookin at reina? Obviously just until waynecard time

agree, it was one of the more explosive shows, it was one of the best I have seen in all the years I am watching it actually. Really despised that little rat Stuart in the end, just a rat, couldn't trust him, feel it for Liz Locke though, I really feel it for Liz Locke! But seriously, she was unlucky, and I reckon could of been there over Stella, but still Chris and Stella are good finalists
