                near the crown. although moving to broadwindsor today.                   That sounds like a nightmare, though an amusing one reading the story.

                  Yeah, grandparents used to live off St Swithens Avenue and my uncle leaves up by Colfox. My dad was born there - spent plenty a happy hour in my childhood in Bridport.

                  Was there in August last, ate in the Bull like all tw*tty out-of-towners. Great fish in there.

                  its not just cupcakes, its dorset apple cake, chocolate fudge cake, scones (fruit, cheese, choc, cherry) banana n walnut etc

                  at the mo its about 500 - 1000 a week but we only recently got both contracts. it will kick off big time in the spring, when it'll be thousands a day.

          On that point, most of the games were cancelled after the 11.30 deadline. Since the earliest game is 12.45, they should consider a 12.30 deadline. I think a couple of the games were cancelled within this window.

            Arsenal and Birmingham's matches definitely were after 11.30 out of the Saturday games.

            Obviously they can't legislate for Sunday games going, but the fact that Saturday's 3pm kick off were called off after the dealine was an absolute nightmare.

        Never competitive is a tad wrong

        Real Soc - the equivalent of Sunderland almost won it a few years back on a shoe string.

        And depor and Valenica have all won it this decade. And the likes of small Osasuna, Villereal, Betis , Bilboa have all made the champions league.

            Ya its not as competitive now, but Valenica put out half a team at Old Trafford and were excellent and they are miles off the pace in Spain

            Just cos Barca are uber impressive doesnt mean its a poor league overall. Even the small teams have excellent quality.

            The overall quality is better than the premier league for me.

          S'pose that's what happens when you let teams negotiate their own TV deals, it just intensifies the gap between the best and the rest.

                  Well Real have played everyone so far bar Getafe, Villareal and Almeria, and Barcalona have only avoided playing Levante, Deportivo and Malaga - with both having a fair spread of home and away.

                  Neither has really dodged any of the big teams.

                    Look, I'm not trying to say Baraclona aren't brilliant - it's just that their brilliance comes at the expense of the rest of the league because it's built on the TV revenue from their games only benefitting them, and not the whole league.

        That the top two trounce the others all the time doesn't mean it's poor. The standard of the teams outside the top5 is no worse than that of the Premiership.

          You can't really compare them directly because the style of football is completely different.

          I think it's fair to say that if you took a mid table team from either league and put them in the other, then that team would be likely to go down purely because of the cultural differences in the way football is played.

            I reacted to the phrase shockingly poor though - and this is not the first time I've seen it on here - because I think that it's fairly similar to the Premiership in quality.

            Premier League edges it for me because of how good the teams just outside the real title candidates are, but these are the two best leagues by far and nobody should believe for a second that almost every Premier League team would be absolutely battered by Barcelona as well.

                  The idea is that he would struggle against team that plays formation 10-0-1 and good old meaty tackles in first 5 minutes would break small barca forwards. Not to mention how vulnerable barca would be from set pieces.

      I'm going to be honest with you... Lucas is not a good player to have in your team.

      He's not as sh*t as everyone on here makes out - but a midfielder who hardly ever ventures forward is never a good fantasy prospect.

          Defenders are probably the best option unless you want to gamble and spend big on Torres or Gerrard.

          I think Konchesky offers value at 5mil. Worth a gamble, because if Liverpool pick up you'll be laughing - and if not, you've not ventured too much.
