Man City have confirmed that the Eastlands clash with Everton will go ahead this evening, barring any late downturn in weather conditions.
Although temperatures had dropped to -15C in the area last night, City have stressed that the pitch is in “perfect condition” and that they are not expecting a pitch inspection prior to kick-off.
Good news for some Fantasy Managers who invested in the likes of Aleksandar Kolarov and Carlos Tevez prior to a Gameweek that has so far seen just two games played.
Tevez is set to start for City tonight but it is widely expected that he will relinquish the captaincy, with Kolo Toure restored as club skipper. Roberto Mancini’s decision is yet to be confirmed but, from his statement over the weekend, the City boss made it clear that Tevez will play a part tonight and that he is expecting the usual level of performance from the Argentine…
“Carlos is a football player and he loves football. He plays like he did when he was young, in the garden. Every day, whether in training or in an important match, he always plays the same way.”
Significant returns for Tevez tonight would change the entire complexion of the Gameweek, particularly for those who took the risk on handing the striker their Fantasy Premier League armband. Tevez could prove a major differential in what would be a key Gameweek in the Fantasy season for all the wrong reasons.
