We’ve managed to eek out one final fixture in this heavily truncated gameweek as Manchester City play host to Everton. Carlos Tevez has withdrawn his transfer request, could my prophecy of Friday morning ring true? Chance would be a fine thing.

City then, unsurprisingly, recall their captain and Aleksander Kolarov to the line-up follow suspension (and a hefty portion of drama), while James Milner replaces Nigel De Jong who himself is suspended. David Moyes meanwhile makes two changes as Leon Osman returns from injury to deputise for Stephen Pienaar who picked up a niggle in the week, while also giving another face a chance to shine up front with Victor Anichebe forcing Saha, Yakubu and Beckford to the bench after weeks of paltry returns. Teams in full are..

City XI: Hart; Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Kolarov; Milner, Toure Yaya, Barry; Silva, Tevez, Balotelli.

Jagielka really was a poor purchase this season for me, Baines is far superior for the cash, and like I did Boateng to Kolarov this week for free, I may be doing Jagielka OUT Baines IN soon aswell, annoying to do "sideways" moves but Jagielka has no goal threat as he seems to hang back for all corners (Distin is better in that respect) and with them not keeping clean sheets BP's are out of reach too.

  Good reason - will Boateng be more likely to start next match with K Toure out the frame? Don't know for sure but just a guess.
  
  Also I'd wait til Saturday before making any transfers due to snow news. I heard the northwest may get some snow soon.

  I have to say this Cahill emergency auto captain is rather sickening, 13 points. In some cases I think he was 5th choice in peoples teams. Some of us who lucked out are going to have massive falls. My rival is going to score 38 points, it's an absolute killer of a gameweek.

I am totally against that emergency captain rule !

I think it is perfectly fair to penalize a person who picked a captain choice that didn't play, by sticking the armband to him, or if he will be substituted, then he should have no captain for that week..

My rival won my mini-league last year with the aid of very non-playing captains who transfered their captaincy to Lampard, the obvious by value choice, who always scored high...

      I can understand where you're coming from and it is a fair point. If we were given more information and the pitches were assessed a day or two before the deadline then I would agree completely. But they arent, in fact many clubs say that the games will go ahead only to cancel at the last moment. This is unfair to those who have picked captains from these teams and they deserve to be allowed to have their captain change. To anyone who has picked a captain who played and didnt do well then thats a shame and a bit of bad luck but still that was their choice, they didnt have to pick this player. Maybe to make up for this they could introduce a system where, on a week like this, you can choose to allow your captain to change whether or not they played. Sorry for how long that was.

  That's fine normally - I probably agree with you - but in this sort of gameweek I don't think it's particularly lucky to get an emergency captain. This is one of the few gameweeks where the emergency captain is fair because it was just random as to which players ended up playing.
