Yes it’s that time again, when I traditionally lay a Christmas wreath on my Fantasy team and pray for a resurrection come Easter time. This year however, I’d be accused of burying my team alive – I’m sure Mark will be the first to agree – I’ve had a decent year so far.

This week though, I’ve felt like a Norfolk turkey who’s had the stuffing knocked out of him and good old Mark is in the same gravy boat. Fate wasn’t content enough to wipe out all but 4 of my players (5 for Mark), it decided to go further and lay bare the lottery of the Fantasy Premier League emergency captain. Then, to cap a bad week, our mini league rival ‘Ben the lurker’ drops a Christmas card on our desks that had as much festive goodwill as Boxing Day heartburn.

So now we’ve decided to join forces to defeat the foe on a number of fronts, an unholy alliance that has as much credence as a Carlos Tevez contract.

Who to bench: Nasri, MGP or N'Zog?

I'm currently leaning towards N'zog but any input would be more than welcome.

Nice one, I'm saving the podcast for my drive back to see the folks in Manchester tomorrow.

    Foster (Krul)
    Kolarov Coleman Samba (Konch Jara)
Nani (c) Nasri Cahill Dunn Bale
    Tevez Carroll Torres

    1) Who to bench from my front 8? Thinking Nasri or Bale. Won't matter if the Liverpool game's off.

    2) Should I sell Samba for Rafael? If the Liverpool game's off, and Samba doesn't play, I have to play Jara and have no subs.

    Any thoughts?

        2. Would it still be a definite no if Samba was ruled out for the Stoke game before the deadlne? He's then got 2 away games, then Liverpool and Chelsea.

You can deal with the Samba problem later. He still has decent fixtures, so keep him for now. Next week, things could be very different.

Benching Carroll this week is less stupid than it looks. Last time they played City, Kompany and Toure shut him down. Newcastle are also playing their second game with a new boss, and there could be a fallout.

Bench Dunn if you want to play safe. If you choose to bench him though, look at getting him out. If you don't want to play him at home against Stoke, he's not worth having in your team, especially at that price.

Toure's banned, though, and Carroll has started 16 games this season, and got more than 4pts in 13 of them, and more than 5pts in 12 of them.

Agree on Dunn, regretting getting him a bit, but going to play him this week then probably sell for a cheapie soon, unless he starts tearing it up.

Not jealous, but it's a pretty good team.

      There are weaknesses.

Milijas isn't ideal, and Brunt is looking a bit injury prone. Up front, it looks great, but a lack of Carroll could hurt since he just keeps pulling in the points.

Coleman also might need to be replaced soon once Arteta comes back.

N'Zog on the bench for me too.

I do it really reluctantly though. I have a feeling he'll do well, but you've got to play the game by the statistics, and fact is, Wigan are one of the worst teams in the league and they're playing away.

Nani, Van Der Vaart, Nasri, Gamst Pedersen

    Drogba, Tevez, Carroll

Selection dilemma. Carroll, Nasri or N'Zog up for the drop. I just have a feeling that N'Zog is going to get something good this week, but on paper, he has to be the one to bench.

I would bench Nasri, in fact I'm selling him for vdv. I know he's played well, scored points from open play etc but for me Arsenal have too many potential match winners, they could win 4 0 and Nasri could get nothing, and their fixtures aren't amazing. With zog you know he's the main man, when Wigan play well he gets something.

About to do Bale to Vdv and then if the Liverpool game is off Torres to Tevez for a 4 point hit.
    Yes/No? Good/Bad?

Is VDV going to be ready for 3 games in a week? Surely bale will get more gametime

Everyone is getting on the VDV wagon again(Im prob the only one that has not had him in my team this season)

Thing is now that gw24 is featuring some double gw's I just can't see him getting a place in my team with the likes of Fab/NZog/Stevie G/Adam playing more than 1 game.

Double Figures had you surviving in LMS this week, so the likes of myself and MFaulkner are out, I've fallen through the trapdoor. (I also lost in the fantasy cup because the lucky **** had Baines):

Yeah, guess I'll just pull the trigger tonight then. Can't afford to lose out on any price rises, if I'm going to bring in Gerrard/Lampard when Cahill leaves...

I never do this but feeling abit stuck

    Jaaskelainen, Foster
    Coleman, Foley, Konchesky, Bardsley, Jara
    Nasri, Nani, Fabregas, Bale, Barton
    Drogba, Tevez, Carroll

0.8 in the bank. 2 free transfers , 51,358 in the world.

    Any Opinions on transfers (VDV?)

    much appreciated

Get some better defenders you lack United and City defenders. Kolarov/Rafael are good options to have.

Nasri and Fabregas in the team is too much. Get one of them out for VDV or Lampard.

Downgrade Bale for a -6m midfielder like Nzogbia or Yaya if you need money
