You may remember that last week we previewed a new Fantasy Game proposition – the “Next-Gen” contender that is Player Manager. The weekend’s postponements scuppered our plans to get a full hands-on with the game, so that’s been shelved until next week when we’ve had more time with the game.

In the meantime, the Scout team will be playing over Christmas and we’ve decided to introduce an informal Scout League setup for those interested in joining us.

If you’d like to join the Player Manager Scout League then just email scout@playermanager.com with the subject “IN”. Please use the email address you used to register your Player Manager account so the guys at PM can locate you on their system.

The League will run for four Gameweeks (19-22) and, on this occasion, we’re just playing for kudos (no digital camera), but in future we may set up something more formal with prize money on offer.

If we get enough sign-ups to the league we will print the league table as the Gameweeks tick by.

  - Silva doesnt look like scoring enough for 8.5, i would switch to Yaya.... and use the funds to upgrade Bent (this year wtih Gyan and Wellbeck, i think he will be sharing goals around alot)

Lads, I have a dilemma.

My team is below.

Jaask (Foster)
A.Cole Kolarov Samba (Jara, Hutton)
Nani (C) N'Zogbia Nasri Dunn VDV
Torres Carroll (Bent)

If Samba doesn't play then he won't come on, so that isn't an issue IMO, however it is, if he doesn't play, I have Jara or Hutton coming on, probably Hutton. He is not a good option IMO at all. So therefore I was thinking of getting rid of either Hutton or Samba and bringing in Rafael. I don't want to get rid of Samba because if he plays then I will want him in my team. No problem getting rid of Hutton, but that means that I will have to bench A.Cole, not bad back up I suppose, but is it stupid just to bring in a player as "back up"?

        I agree about not getting on the Blackburn defensive bandwagon now.
        
        Sunderland's fixtures are much better than Blackburn's over the next 6 games, after the Utd game of course.
        
        I'd be looking at getting Onouha or Bardsley after this GW as they have 2 nice home games coming up. I'm thinking of getting Onouha in for Hangeland or Bardsley for Foley next week myself.

  The greek may not play for me, but Im going to risk him, play Jara as sub and then use 2 changes next GW for fixture madness (if there is any and start thinking about doubles once ticker updated....

        i got that fact by research! hes onlt had 1 assist to nasri and that was at fulham, last season nasri only scored 6 goals, and im an arsenal fan so i tend to know quite a bit about arsenal

        Why do you think that? Many of Samir's goals gave been from open play this season so Nasri and Cesc can definitely play together. Nas will also get far more BPs than he did last year, casting cesc's value into doubt, not his.

        what im saying is, bale is fit and playing a villa side who arent great defensively VP is either going to play deeper or hes going to get brought off after 65 mins for cham, yea nasri still keeps his goals up with fabregas playing but i would rather have bale playing than VP because tottenham are playing an easier side than arsenal v chelsea, if it was a lesser team i would agree with you, this is the problem when you have 9 mids/strikers that you want to play week in week out, i always go for 8 and a backup

    yea i agree torres is away, i now its blackpool but i think i saw the other day on here that hes only scored 1 goal in something like 10 away games....not sure the exact figure but hes s**t away from home, balotelli might play but its not a nailed on, id play albrighton over balotelli, theres goals in this game for both sides

My team is:

Foster,Krul,
Greek,Samba,Coleman,Jara,D.Collins,
Nani,Nasri,Cahill,Barton,Adam,
Drog,Tevez,Elmander.(3.4 in bank)

Two free transfers this week.Thinking of doing Adam->VdV and Greek->Rafael(which will leave me with absolutely nothing in the bank).Will have to do Adam->VdV tonight,lest the Dutchman goes up in price or Adam drops(currently on 93.4% at FT).Good idea?Or does anyone think I should bring Yaya Toure instead of VdV for Adam,as Toure has an easier game away to Newcastle?Also,is it worth it to do Elmander->Carroll as well for a 4 point hit?Not sure if Elmander will deliver even against West Brom at home,looking at his current form.Really need some advice,guys.Any opinions are welcome.

  keep elmander boltons home form has been pretty good and dont take any hits (especially if your still in the cup) and try leave the transfer as late as possible in case of any postponed games. but id say bring in vdv

Guys, I want to replace Foley after this GW for an other cheap defender(4.1 max)

I was thinking of Gohouri/Figueroa or Evatt/Crainey.

Who is the best option for the upcoming weeks??? Both have DGW home games planned in jan.

  For 4.1 max you can get a Wigan, Blackpool, WBA, Wolves or Newcastle defender.
  And none of those teams or predictable when it comes to clean sheets...

    Carroll has got 3BPs in a 0-0 draw this season, Kolarov can score points at both ends, don't see why you can't play both. Foley not a bad idea, though.
