Andy Carroll looks a major doubt for the trip to Wigan. The home side will be without the suspended Charles N’Zogbia, while Antolin Alcaraz is rated 50:50. Nani’s hip continues to cause problems with Alex Ferguson hinting that he could keep him out of the trip to the Hawthorns. The West Brom defence lying in wait is ravaged by injury, with Roberto Di Matteo looking set to turn to recent loanee Gianni Zuiverloon to plug the gaps left by injury and suspension.

Things aren’t improving for Roy Hodgson as the Liverpool boss sweats on Joe Cole’s fitness and suggests that Steven Gerrard is fatigued following his recent spell on the sidelines. Carlos Tevez is expected to return for City as they prepare for Blackpool’s visit to Eastlands; Mancini looks set to rotate again however as he prepares for the midweek crunch with Arsenal at the Emirates. Arsene Wenger may also shuffle his assets again as he recalls the likes of Robin Van Persie, Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas to his squad for the testing trip to St Andrews.

    my team for this week with 1 free transfer and 0.2 in the bank:

    drogba elmander carroll

    i know that i have one player too many playing but i’m not sure who to bench. probably going to go with carroll, nani or kolorov

    not going to make a transfer this week, but next week vidic > rafael and nasri > tchoyi then the week after elmander > tevez

    are these good transfers,who should i bench and who to captain?

      koscienly to bardsley and boetang to kolorv seem like good moves. not sure about bale to fabs because he could leave in january and RvP to elmander looks like the better transfer. so overall a mixture of the two.

    Options:

    Wasn't going tp make any transfers, but with the doubt surrounding Nani and especially the news on Carroll, I'm now toying with a switch off those two to Gerrard and DJ Campbell. If Carroll is indeed out for a couple of weeks that could see Campbell playing 5, 6 or 7 games more than Carroll until the second wildcard. Only problem is I'd lose 0.7 on him.

    Is this madness or a light-bulb moment? 😀

      Gerrard has some easy fixtures but hasn't got match fitness. However he does take free kicks and penalties.

      Livepool have a double in GW22 - Worth buying Gerrard and they should beat Bolton at home under pressure.

    Evening all, those with konchesky going to start him? Or if aurrelio does replace him, anyone worried about konchesky coming on towards the end?. My defence would be cole,konchesky,kolorov(Simpson,jara).
    Also thinking of upgrading jara to bardsley, if I did that then I could drop konchesky to bench for him. Thoughts?

      Same frame of mind. I am planning on dropping one of Kyrgiakos or Konchesky (I know I know, i own both) for Bosingwa.

      Just certain the one I drop will get 90 mins and the one I keep will be benched. Really looking for Liverpool fans with any insight. There are great theoretical arguments for both but only Roy (and the photographers at the training ground yesterday) truly know...

      No, its not just you. He scares me too. At the moment he's the one striker other than Tevez who is in enough form to realistically put his opponents this weekend to the sword.

      His only drawback is whether he gets rested or not. Sir Alex may decide that Utd can handle West Brom without Berbs this weekend. Especially as they play again a few days later.

    Already used 1 free getting in Adam and have 1 more free but i think i should save it.

    With all the injury doubts/rotation not sure if i'll get 11 playing.
