There are three exciting developments concerning our Members Area today. Firstly, and most significantly we’ve slashed the price of Membership for the rest of the season to just £10.

You can now sign up and get the full Members Ticker, the customisable and feature-filled Next Six Ticker plus of course access to our sortable tables of OPTA player and team performance statistics. All that for a tenner; plus there’s more to come with news of updated Player Projections for the FPL game…

The second piece of news however concerns the Opta stats. We are now out of Beta for Phase Two of the Members area which means that, in addition to cumulative stats over the season, you can now view statistics for players and teams by the Gameweek. Members can use filters to analyse performance over the current and last Gameweek and the last two, four and six Gameweeks. Using the Advanced Filters you can also set up your own ranges and choose to view averages by Games Played, rather than absolute data.

The final development, as promised, concerns the Player Projections – we’ve been working to update these in time for the Gameweek 22 Fantasy Premier League Wildcards and I’m please to say that these have now been updated.

What are Player Projections?
These are our predictions for all the vital FPL stats for every player in the game – predicted until the end of the season. Basically they allow you to view a predicted return for players and we’ve included a field that shows points gained from Gameweek 22 to the end of the season to cater for your Wildcard needs.

How were they put together?
We built these new Projections from scratch rather than work with the existing data. The sortable tables are based on FPL performance so far with modifiers applied for the difficulty of their remaining fixtures and their current form. We’ve also used the OPTA data to apply further modifiers based on the analysis of players performance that these stats allow.

How do I use the Projections?
Basically if you’re playing your Wildcard, these tables can be used to view a projected return for goals, assists, clean sheets, FPL Bonus and of course, FPL total points for all the top players. We’ve included sortable tables of the top 25 Keepers, 100 Defenders, 100 Midfielders and 50 Strikers.

Will they be updated?
These projections have been built specifically with the Gameweek 22 Wildcard in mind. They won’t be updated each week but may well get a refresh later in the season, prior to the final run-in. We will keep you posted on that.

There are doubtless some minor bugs to fix in the data but I thought it would be great to roll these out to Members now, prior to the Gameweek 23 deadline. The tables will be tweaked over the next few days then I’m sure.

So, all this is now available to Members, while Non-Members can now sign up to get access for just £10 via Paypal or via a cheque or Postal Order to the address below:

Fatty as captain could be a decent differential this week. I could see Chelsea winning by 2 or 3 despite the shite form.

That is why these bloody Drogba rumours are giving me nightmares. I'm close to shipping him out for Tevez....

Well Carroll I'd have sold a while back and brought in for WC.

Evatt is a risk as I cant see BPool keeping CS even with DGWs really... think he got lucky last week.

      Djourou is very short term.

Kingson - same above, Pool wont keep many cleansheets and think you can get better.

      The rest looks sweet though.

I like it on the whole. Few things to consider.

Carroll is a risk to keep. Doesn't have good fixtures and just returning from injury. I guess that makes bench decision easier though.

Defense is solid but could be better.

Hughes is the worst pick from the Fulham defense. Get Pantsil or Baird instead if you can't afford/don't want to pay for Hangeland.

Get Bramble instead of Bardsley too. He's cheaper, a sure starter, more of a differential, and gets bonus points.

That should save you enough to upgrade Kingson, who is a really short-term keeper, and to be honest, you don't want to have to mess or worry about your keepers until the end of the season if possible.

      Get Begovic or Harper.

I appreciate the value of statistical analysis in determining the potential of fantasy gains from players, but surely the player projections are flawed? Firstly who determines the difficulty of the fixtures teams face? Secondly who decides the form of teams, and how this converts into a numeric value? Surely this is as subjective as the first point.
And finally why build statistics from scratch? The proven ability of a player (class) HAS to be taken into account. Class is permanent, form is temporary.

What i find really strange is in the Season Ticker - Blackpool are indicated as being easier to play away than home?!

Probably due to this running myth on here that Blackpool are better away from home... even though they play EXACTLY the same way home and away. Also, if you average out their results this season, their Home points per game is slightly more.

If you do the maths and average their Home results versus their Away results the points per game is pretty equal but slightly in favour of Home results.. yet you still think that? Oki doke then.

Personally i think they set up the exact same way, home or away. There doesn't seem to be much difference in how opposition set up against them either since most Blackpool games are full of goals regardless of where they're played. The only difference as I see it is the support from the stands.

Anyway, my point in this was Blackpool are equally dangerous/easy to play (whatever way you look at it) and their results are almost impossible to predict. So surely the season ticker should have BLP and blp marked both as white / pale blue / whatever.

i see your point but im going to make one last attempt.

usually - home points are superior than away points for a team. BUT
if blackpool home/away points are the same then it must mean

either blackpool UNDERPERFORM at home OR blackpool OVERPERFORM away from home.

so when blackpool are on an away game, the opponents know that blackpool will OVERPERFORM. and when visitors come to bloomfield road they know that blackpool will UNDERPERFORM.

                    atleast i tried 😆

Maybe not much difference but there is a difference. Let's see what the ppg averages are when they've caught up with their home games. Is it United and Tottenham that were postponed?

I don't think it's quite as simple as that. More to do with the other teams mindset imo. When they play Blackpool on their own patch EVERY team in the league would have it down as a great chance to get 3 points hence they play in a more open and attacking way. This seems to suit Blackpool

    VDV, Adam, Nasri, Nani, Gerrard
    Berbs, Tevez (Carroll)

    1.3m in bank

    1) Gerrard > N,Zogbia (and then to Fabs GW25)

Yeh - one of Rooney or Berbs, but not this week. I bought Carroll in for £5.0m so don't want to sell. If I hold onto Drogs he's going to be my captain!

    Foster (Krul)
    Vidic Kolarov Coleman
    Yaya Nani VDV NZog Adam
    Torres Drogba(c)

    Bench: Varney Konchesky Simpson

I'm edging towards keeping Drogs and giving him the captain's armband - nice to see somebody else is on the same wavelength:-)

I was looking at playing Konchesky on the off chance he starts - I'm still thinking Liverpool cleansheet....but I'd have to bench one of Vidic or Coleman...

is boateng nailed on for tomorrow with Richards out?

      LB: kolarov/ zabaleta
      RB: Richards/ Boateng

is that right? or do they swap a bit?
Im still mullin over my freebie,
definitely losing konchesky but can decide who has to come in for one week
      1. huth, safe choice
      2. bosingwa, great attacking potential, will he be in the mood, is his place in 11 assured (jamsie, no, guardian, no) (cfcf yes, mark, yes, matty yes)
      3. boateng , i already have kolarov, but he may not play so would a sneaky punt on boateng be a good move?

or risk it all on the eyebrow...

      or play it safe

      Lads, Question.

We ran a league from Aug to December and had prizes etc. Now we are starting a new league tomorrow until end of season.

I want to keep my existing team and enter it for this league.

Now, if I make 4 transfers tonight, will I start on 0 tomorrow when the league begins like everyone else, or will i be charged for the transfers, and thus 12 points will be taken off my total after GM 1?

      Any definitive answer welcome...

I tried to shave my own hair for the first time tonight and have took a big chunk out at the side. Have therefore tried to even it out by cutting the surrounding area to the same length but even at a number 1, the patch is still visible.

I don't know why I am telling you all this. Is there a magic hair growth remedy anyone knows of? I already have visions of my work colleagues calling me Patch Adams!

I bought this new 'amazing' Philips thing which is patented as the first hair clipper for self-use. To be fair I was doing ok, except for some reason I decided to take the comb extension off and use the bare clipper and that's when disaster struck and I took a big chunk off.

I am seriously considering supergluing some of my hair to that patch until it grows back. Seriously.

Oh well you learn the hard way. Like the first time you play catch with a hedgehog.

even mine was a new 'amazing' Wahl thing. but i was so stupid, i had the extension on but i used the trimmer flipped the other way (so basically it cut like it would without the extension!)

        Any definitive answer welcome…
