With no early fixtures today, gameweek 23 kicks-off with five 3pm games before Arsenal travel to Upton Park this evening. All the action can be followed in our Dugout Discussion chatroom.

The team news from the afternoon games is in, and here are the line-ups…

Chelsea XI: Cech, Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Essien, Ramires, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda

Blackburn XI: Robinson, Salgado, Nelsen, Samba, Givet, Dunn, Olsson, Pedersen, Hoilett, Kalinic, Mame Diouf

Didier Drogba and Michael Essien both start for the home side, contrary to earlier stories. As for Blackburn, they make several changes notably welcoming back Chris Samba and benching El-Hadji Diouf.

Man City XI: Hart, Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Kolarov, De Jong, Barry, Adam Johnson, Toure Yaya, Tevez, Dzeko

Wolves XI: Hennessey, Zubar, Stearman, Berra, Ward, Hunt, Milijas, David Jones, Jarvis, Doyle, Fletcher

The major news from the game at Eastlands is that the new £27m signing Edin Dzeko makes his Premier League debut for the home side.

Stoke XI: Begovic, Wilkinson, Shawcross, Huth, Higginbotham, Delap, Whitehead, Wilson, Etherington, Jones, Sanli

Bolton XI: Jaaskelainen, Ricketts, Cahill, Knight, Robinson, Mark Davies, Muamba, Holden, Taylor, Kevin Davies, Elmander

Tuncay’s self-promotion earlier in the week seems to have done the business, as he starts for Stoke City today. Importantly for Bolton, Stuart Holden has come through an injury scare to start.

West Brom XI: Myhill, Jara, Tamas, Scharner, Cech, Mulumbu, Morrison, Brunt, Dorrans, Thomas, Odemwingie

Blackpool XI: Kingson, Eardley, Cathcart, Evatt, Crainey, Vaughan, Adam, Grandin, Taylor-Fletcher, Campbell, Varney

Roberto Di Matteo drops goalkeeper Scott Carson for the first time in the league this season, handing a start to Boaz Myhill.

Wigan XI: Al Habsi, Stam, Gary Caldwell, Alcaraz, Gohouri, Watson, N’Zogbia, Thomas, Diame, Figueroa, Rodallega

Fulham XI: Stockdale, Pantsil, Hangeland, Baird, Hughes, Davies, Etuhu, Murphy, Duff, Dempsey, Kamara

Charles N’Zogbia returns from suspension and starts for Wigan. As for Fulham, strikers Andrew Johnson and Moussa Dembele are only fit enough to make the bench.

Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Toure, Kompany, Kolarov, De Jong, Barry, Adam Johnson, Toure Yaya, Tevez, Dzeko

i still have both WC's and planning on using 1 this week or next. if i do use it in the next week or 2, will it take away my first (season long) WC, or will it take my second 1 leaving me with my first for the rest of the season?

Any1 here able to help me out or show me the e mail address to contact with questions, cheers!

I still probably wouldn't have captained Tevez. Never saw all those goals.

If I was thinking strictly logically, Tevez had to be the choice...

Some guy posted a good breakdown of Tevez VS Drogba, but no, I didn't listen to reason.

O well, 11 point loss hurts, but I haven't had double figures on my bench before, so I guess that's okay.

Next week, I up my game because it's WC time!

There are few worse things, in this game, than a rival nicking your most prized differential, and captaining them (while you opt for someone else) so that you resent that player - that player you once loved to see do well - doing well.

    So...

Yesterday I transferred out Terry for Coleman and put a tenner on Blackpool winning.

Today Hart was useless, Kolarov was his usual potentially brilliant but in FPL terms terrible self.

DJ missed three chances and Adam may not even get BP's. Currently on 6 from 4. Red Arrow imminent, lost places in minileague certain due to Tevez (c) for others and probably out of the Millionaire League in the first week.

Oh and Chelsea and City won so now Spurs need to beat United to stay in a CL spot.

    FML.

Hi lads I know everybody r thinking about their team points but my advice is never to give up and always look to the next GW in order to improve your team. And the next one is nothing less than a double GW with Liv and Man utd included.

My question is about Rafael and Berbatov. They both look good value at the moment, but because there is 3 days between the games I think there is doubt for both of them playing both of the games. Are they worthy of investment prior to the doubles?

My opinion right now is that both of them is gonna be benched for one of the games. Others?

    Cheers,

Have Rafael and Im going to keep him, a guy his age should have no problem playing both games.

Considering bringing in Berba too, wont hurt too much if they play just one match because a high percent will also be affected.

I fancy wildcarding but I already Have Adam, Torres, berbs, nani, rafael and Dempsey who all have DGW in GW23.

    Maybe it's worth saving.

      I'm thinking the same.

I have Adam, Nani, Vidic, VDS.

Am set to bring in Dempsey as well.

2 out of the world top 10 have Tevez (c).

That's unbelievable. How can they be ranked so highly without him?

        Great 😉

I'll share as my mind flits and back and forth between the various options.

Considering it tonight, mainly because it won't be far off what my team will be for GW 27 so I might do it! 😛
