After a three week absence, I finally managed to corner Mark and drag him kicking and screaming into the studio for another podcast. His resistance is understandable, the New Year hasn’t been quite so “happy” for our host and after Carlos did the business for me last weekend, Mark finds himself clinging to my coattails and the hope that the impending double Gameweek can prompt a change in fortunes.

The “Doubles” dominate the airwaves of this latest episode, providing the crux of this week’s “Discussion” and influencing the usual smattering of regulars – “All Aboard”, “The Weekend Preview” and even “Fantasy Island Risks”. Take four Villa players onto the Island? “Double Trouble” must have gone to our heads.

    Kind of at a loss as to what to do this gw. Think I really need to get more DGW's. The plan was to ship bent for berbatov, but now bent has that double... Bah! Anyways, here's my team:

    Robinson (Foster)
    Kolarov - Skrtel - Coleman (Simpson) (Rafael)
    Adam - Nasri - VdV - Fab - Nani
    Bent - Tevez - Carroll

    Was thinking
    Bent to Berbatov
    Rafael to Ferdinand
    Robinson to Stockdale (4 point hit)

    Planning to use my wildcard for GW 27. Sound transfers? Any other options? Maybe just Bent to Berbatov and Simpson to Walker or Kelly?

        Well it looks like Carroll wont play Tottenham, so I guess I'll bench him. Wondering if I should ship him (like Mark and Granville are arguing...), but don't really see any good alternatives in that price range. I also think my squad can handle his absence until he's back.

          Ive brought in Odem while hes gonna be gone. As someone else was saying earlier a thigh injury takes time so even when he's back he could be rusty

      Problem is Carroll isnt playing, so are you planning on changing formation? I'd say Bent to Berbs is a good move, wouldnt bother taking a 4 point hit for Stockdale. Changing Simpson could be a good idea but whoever you buy would be on your bench right?

        Forgot to add the () on Carroll, considering he wont play, so it'll be 3-5-2. The hit for Stockdale, really is a hit to bring in ferdinand for rafael, as I can't afford that withouth downgrading somewhere.

          Ahhhhh right I get ya! So thats a potential of at least 2 clean sheets against a 4 point hit... It is difficult because Robinson could get a cleanie too. DO you really want a utd defender? If ya do then take the hit.

        There is dembele as a differential? I'm going drog to Rooney probably then maybe Carroll to dembele Or krygi to hangeland for 4 points but then I'd have to bench vdv or nasri. Ahhhhhh!!

          Ye Dembele is cheap and he served me well at the very start of the season. I'd prefer to wait and see how he does but if you need the cash Id say hes worth a punt

    Worth taking a 4 point hit to get a United defender in? I have Nani and Berbs currently.
    Was banking on getting Rafael for Clichy but no point now with his suspension! Any other United defender and I would have to take a hit...

              Not sure he will do too much vs Arsenal, but they are useless at the back and if Wigan get anything he will be involved. He will then have a 2 point headstart for Villa at home where he could score big.

              Well Greg is the manager of the FFscout team so he'd have to add you. Its the virtual pro thingy where you develop a player. We currently have a plethora of strikers, wingers and attacking midfielders. I'm the only defensive midfielder and we have zero defenders or a keeper. So if you fancy filling any of those roles it'd be sound as a pound.

          I have only got 4 DGW players. This week I have two free transfers and considering the following:
