After a three week absence, I finally managed to corner Mark and drag him kicking and screaming into the studio for another podcast. His resistance is understandable, the New Year hasn’t been quite so “happy” for our host and after Carlos did the business for me last weekend, Mark finds himself clinging to my coattails and the hope that the impending double Gameweek can prompt a change in fortunes.

The “Doubles” dominate the airwaves of this latest episode, providing the crux of this week’s “Discussion” and influencing the usual smattering of regulars – “All Aboard”, “The Weekend Preview” and even “Fantasy Island Risks”. Take four Villa players onto the Island? “Double Trouble” must have gone to our heads.

I think I'll leave it and pray that:

            a.) He doesn't rise tonight (99.6% :P)
            or
            b.) Fergie drops him

even he doesn't rise tonight, he will rise tomorrow. so it will make no difference.
I'd bring him in place of another striker, not Tevez.

    Foster - AlHabsi
    Bramble - Rafael - Coleman - Djourou - ShawX
    Nani - VDV - Fabs - Adam - Malouda

ok so, i think my move decided for me tonight whether id wildcard this week or not, and i wont. Im actually thinking that gw 26 is the time to do it, or next week, when everyone will probably be not 100% well lined up. ( if not 27 of course)

The decision not to use it now is based on the fact ive just taken a four point hit, and though i could do with losing my bench defenders, i have a decent enough team this weekend, and a wildcard really wouldnt do much. I think ill stick with the four points. Not looking for RMT, but heres my team- i reckon it doesnt need a wildcard, and ill write off the 4 pointer

    Kingson

    vidic, Cole, Samba

    Walcott, nani, adam, Imsomnia, VDV

I was kindof hoping for an RBJ style abusive response! You know me too well!

Interestingly enough, I am benching DJ aswell (despite having brought him in this week for freebie), was going between Nasri and VDV so much that I thought "f*ck it, there is a logical reason why I keep going between VDV and Nasri, cause I think they will score big", I got blinded by the DGW, like so many, but now I see the light.

6 DGW'ers aswell, all is good RBJ.

its a very tough decision i agree. Also tough considering i reckon UNited will concede- just a gut feeling, they can take it easy and jsut score more goals. But VDV wouild have to be benched, and that could be a disaster.

I would wc in all honestly. Looks a very weak team compared to most and alot of pps will be wc'ing. Can see you fall further behind with that line up. My reasons:
kingson - bpool dont keep cs
cole - che bad form will most likely concede
walcott - chasing last weeks points, nasri and cesc better options. Roatation risk also.
Samba - has west brom will most likely be goals in that match. Cant see a cleanie. I had him an got rid.
Finally you have a really weak bench.
If you wc you can set yourself up nicely for this double and the up an coming gws up to the next via free transfers. Easy.

        Are you for real?

Kingson, he has him, so may aswell play him, he will get 4-7 points at least with minutes played and save points, don't think he is banking on Kingson getting clean sheets to be honest.

Cole, Chelsea are playing Bolton, they aren't going to be awful forever.

Walcott, could tear Wigan a new one, and was rested for the most part during the week, fresh, speed, ouch.

Samba, I agree to be fair.

He doesn't need his bench this week, he plans to WC next week or the week after anyway.

All your points are quite...pointless to be fair. All im saying is hes better off wc now to get a good line up for this week and leading up to and the next double, can be done easily thru bit of forward planning. Kingson wont keep cleansheet you have agreed, your banking on che coming good, wev all been waiting for that last few months. And walcott COULD tear wigan a new one but more likely its fabs n nasri n rvp who will inflict the damage, he only had a good gw last week hence point chasing.

bollox on the point chasing- i hate the guy, and i got him in for this game. He'll start, and he's always the one they dont mark so he gets goals. I can see him getting two. Kingson will get 6 points at least, who knows, might get a cleanie, or save a rooney penalty.

Protection is like those mortgage debt derivatives some mathematicians on lsd made up for the banks. Nobody knows eactly how it works.

But by that reckoning Dzeko should go up tomorrow since he's on 97.7% and 'Protected' Or maybe because Bent isn't new to the league it's different.

Sweet! Sold Cahill at 9.0. ready to buy him back in February, maybe even after another drop 😀

If they are fit then Wenger’s squad should be similar to the one employed at Elland Road(Leeds)

Means what ? Rvp fab not starting ???

Nah RVP was rested for this game. He went on just for a little run around and practice 4 points at the end.

Maybe the last part of my jigsaw.
    A) V Persie & Berbatov
    or
    B) Rooney & Bent
    any thoughts appreciated.

I think most reliable for points would be RVP and Bent but it's impossible to tell which Man U striker will hit the jackpot, or Nani might.

Cheers, 3rd striker is Torres so I may change him but reckon I'll choose between pairings above. I have A but may change to B as I'm on WC. Will no doubt change 100 times between now and Saturday morning!

Love your work. I am of the Ferguson bench-fodder line too. The second I put him in my headache disappeared.

        Yes! Yes!
I asked people here on their opinion on Ferguson yesterday. No-one thought it was a good idea to put him in.

Glad to find fools like myself 😀

    Morning everyone,
Torn between using w/c this week or going with the below. Is this enough for this week?
    Foster (Carson)
    Vidic/Coleman/Evatt (Kolarov) (Boswinga)
    VDV/Nani(c)/Nasri/Adam/Nzog
    Tevez/Torres (Carroll)

Options of no w/c - Tevez to Berbs and Carroll to RVP 4 pt hit or Carson to VDS and take no hit.

    Ideas much appreciated, thanks

Dare I say it but my team is looking proper peng at the precise minute.

deliberations include. The Great Bent berbatov Conundrum of 2011 and the saga of who to bench and keep away from this potentially mammoth scoring gameweek.

Even with my WC i'd concerned on who will pick up the points this week. I see Rooney doing his thing, with nani in the mix...But
berbatov is such a risk with his ever so tempremental footballing abilities. And at the back? Kyle Walker. Does he deserve a place in the 2nd half of my season? I've seen him play the once.

Fair to say I have 15 first team players, except for the risk of Djourou. Happy he'll make it into the double of game week 27 however.

Tevez looks like a bencher this week. Out muscled by the likes of young Kyle Walker.

    Team sits with,

    Van Der Saar / Foster

    Coleman / Djourou / Walker / Haangeland / Murphy

Van Der Vaart / Nani / Nasri / Adam / Yaya Toure

    RVP / Berbatov / Tevez

    fin.
