Gameweek 24, and the second week of the wildcard window, is almost upon us. If you’re still undecided on which transfers to go with, the Saturday Surgery is here to help (or at least point you in the right direction)…

As this is our first ‘serious’ double gameweek of the season, make yourself familiar with the fixtures. The season ticker should be your first port of call, but Wednesday’s Frisking The Fixtures breaks that down further.

If, like me, you haven’t activated your second wildcard yet, then don’t look too far ahead. In fact, only look as far ahead as this week. You’ll need info on all the clubs with two fixtures this week then? No problem… Man United, Blackpool, Fulham, Liverpool, Wigan and Aston Villa.

Failing that, this week Scout Picks narrows your search down to 14 players.

Once you’ve got a few players in mind, checking the Injuries and Bans table and Team News section should now be a given. There you can check that your squad ‘should’ play this week.

Finally, you have to select a captain. Unsurprisingly, double gameweek players top the Captain’s Poll. Leading the pack easily is Manchester United’s Luis Nani, with 41% of the votes.

As always, the Matchday Surgery chatroom is open for business to take you through the deadline.

    I did my wildcard team quite late last night and can't even remember a few players in it, think I went with Rooney (c).

        Yea, but there is no list or anything. They used to list players in the Saturday surgery post, but now they just leave it up to the chat - which does'nt provide any clear answers but chatting. Also many other fantasy games does'nt have such early transfer deadline as the official FPL, which means the chat is closed ot goes quiet to early.

    Most of my league have wildcarded and most of them have 11 DGW players and Nani captain. Think it's stupid having that many but I'm still worried that I've gone Rooney captain over Nani..

          Yup that's crazy, but if you do it correctly you could make a great team with 10 or 11 DGW players (3 of them Man U) and 4 or 5 long term - so next week you have 8 that you really want (3 Man U) and your 5 long term... then don't make a transfer and make 2 in week 26 to get rid of your double players from 24 and all of a sudden you have 10 you really want long term. not a bad plan. was considering it but stuck to my guns for week 26/27.

        He ain't playing off Odem, that is the problem, Morrison is. He thrived off the striker last year but he's playing deeper at the moment, filling in cos of injuries next to Mulumbu.

        Probably overall been one of our best player over the last couple 3-4 weeks though and has robbed all of Brunt's set pieces!

    One of the guys above me has taken a 4 point hit to take out Torres and Rafael for Skrtl and Berbs-presumably confident that Berbs will score more than one goal more than Torres? seems an odd call.
